But they help the vast majority of people who take them for various ailments, some life threatening like heart disease. Risk/benefit is present in every medical intervention and prevention measure. Drug manufacturers have kept up with bacterial resistance, produced effective drugs for weight loss (with accompanying diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease etc), improved life expectancy for many cancers etc. All the products of elite scientists who for some reason, MAGA's despise (I suppose because they are elite). Prices would drop precipitously if Medicare directly negotiated drug prices but R's are firmly against that. D's are largely in favor. Shocker!
