Maybe near Georgia but most people here get their gas from the port of Tampa. Got a link to this entire state of emergency?

It is mostly going to impact the panhandle, but the order impacts the entire state.

Cyber-security is part of the infrastructure, just as expanded broadband is. It’s not just the past centuries old roads and pipes.

I hear "we need significant infrastructure upgrades" and my mind goes to aging roads/pipes/bridges. Cyber-security is a different animal IMO. You can fortify a road or bridge and expect it to last some number of years.  You can address a cyber-security hole with little expectation that another one won't be exposed in the short term. It's an on-going battle. For the record, if it comes out that the company operating the Colonial pipeline was lax wrt cyber-security I'll agree with you - my hope/expectation is that wasn't the case.

That is one stern order lol. We, nor no one we know, are worried.

No one should have been worried about anything as it was.

The worrying and panic is contributing more to the shortage than the cyber-attack.

And these dummies are going to be sitting on 100 gallons of varnish and sludge in about 4 months.

I live on the EC too.  Not concerned.  Annoyed by the price spike, but what are you gonna do?

My parents and sister are in the OBX though and the stations there were out and that's an issue because there are only a couple.

There was gas available when we left to have dinner with our son. Time was tight, so we waited until the ride home. Too late.

Apparently the wife’s trip to Nashville to visit the grandson are nixed again. Covid, now this. Always something....

My wife is in BFLo the past week helping her mother... She drives back tomorrow.   Unfortunately, she's all fueled up for the ride! AND if she tops it really, really off... Can make it the whole 525 miles on one tank. Sure she'll be coming in on fumes... But I have done it before!

Dang it!  What's the odds she didn't tippy top it off?  She's going East to West and I only pulled the one tank feat off on winter blend and a strong West-East tailwind! 😆 I used cruise control too... She's a Luddite and doesn't believe in cruise control... I got that working for me!

😉 GodSpeed Honey!

[FWIW... J/K... In no way shape or form am I serious about possibly keeping my freedom and independence because there is a fuel shortage and my wife can't get back home.]

I live on the west coast, central. Price spike is for sure there but I'm not gonna get into that. Doesn't affect us too much, both vehicles are good on gas and we only sometimes head out of our now 10 mile world. People are making this out way worse than it really is... kind of makes me laugh.

Folks are losing their minds here in GA too.

And it is that panic that is actually creating the perceived shortage. Idiots are once again "stocking up", aka hoarding, which is creating the scarcity to begin with.

These morons...

"Approved Containers" I suppose is a hoax... ??

Are they filling Rubbermaid containers with fuel?  Where's the Fire Marshall?  Oh wait,  it's the South, there are no tyrannical government thugs down there. /smh...

AND this folks is why you may not pump your own fuel in New Jersey.   Just think how bad it would be in the most densely populated state. That's like Georgia on steroids!  But thank God there's government there! 😏

These are the same people that stay when you tell them to evacuate because a hurricane is coming.

A man who wanted to steal gas drilled holes in the tanks of parked U-Haul trucks in Georgia — spilling up to 45 gallons of gas before fleeing the scene.

Are we sure he's not a Florida man who just crossed the border?

The local news spends 99% of their broadcast time showing us lines as different gas stations all over their viewing area.  The remaining 1% is used to quickly say that that the panic is the sole reason for why stations are empty.  They have way too much power and they choose to only use it to get higher ratings.

Bingo.....fear mongering gets ratings, but that's what the "news" has become. Every storm is a catastrophe, every incident is breaking news because that's what generates money.
