HereComesTheReignAgain Posted May 7, 2021 Posted May 7, 2021 The recent Tom Wilson cheap shot and the Rangers response, brought back memories of the Sabres vs Senators brawl after scumbag Chris Neil took out Chris Drury with an extremely dirty hit. This was back when Sabre hockey was so much fun to watch. I remember watching this game live and going crazy. This video discusses the incident with the players that lived it and is a really well done piece. If you need a little adrenaline rush, I highly recommend checking it out! *Marty Biron will always be one of my all time favorite players and the fact that he took on the best fighter to ever play goalie, Ray Emery, exemplified his heart and team spirit! 2 2 3 Quote
PetermansRedemption Posted May 7, 2021 Posted May 7, 2021 One of the best hockey games I’ve ever watched. Heck, it’s probably the best. I’ve re-watched it multiple times. Back when both teams were actually good too. What a great rivalry that was. 1 Quote
GETTOTHE50 Posted May 8, 2021 Posted May 8, 2021 It’s tough to find a bigger piece of ***** than Neil. He’s right there with any patriot and Bruin. 1 Quote
Chandler#81 Posted May 8, 2021 Posted May 8, 2021 I well remember this team! Too bad they left.. They are no more, right? Quote
US Egg Posted May 8, 2021 Posted May 8, 2021 The NHL hierarchy, then and now, have long been a joke. Wilson, like Neil, should have been suspended at least a game. No major sport is as inconsistent with this than the NHL. 1 Quote
TBBills Posted May 8, 2021 Posted May 8, 2021 You know hockey is a dead sport when the fights are what gets ratings. Quote
Johnny Hammersticks Posted May 9, 2021 Posted May 9, 2021 I was at this game and it was amazing. Perhaps the best thing about the game, other than the brawl and Lindy going after Murray, was the OT winner by (without looking) Drew Stafford? The curse of Lindy Ruff is still alive and well! Quote
Nextmanup Posted May 9, 2021 Posted May 9, 2021 There was a time when we had a very solid rivalry going with Ottawa and it was genuinely fun to anticipate games with them. Sadly, that is long over, and the only rivalry we have with them NOW is seeing who is the worst franchise in the NHL. Buffalo and Ottawa are *easily* the two worst franchises in the league right now. Been that way for some years. Quote
