ALF Posted August 6, 2022 Posted August 6, 2022 Automakers say 70% of EV models don't qualify for tax credit under Senate bill The requirements could put a dent in President Biden's plan to have half of all vehicles sold be electric by 2030 The bill includes rising requirements for the percentage of battery components originating from North America based on value. After 2023, it would disallow batteries with any Chinese components. https://www.foxbusiness.com/politics/automakers-70-ev-models-dont-qualify-tax-credit-under-senate-bill Most solar panels and windmills also made in China . They could bring those jobs here and to our allies . Plenty of workers crossing the southern border. 1

This is so great, the Dems latest bill’s most expensive line item is a tax cut for wealthy home owners (meanwhile look for that new line on your Amazon charge called min corp tax pass though) 😂 … party of the little guy I tell you https://www.cbsnews.com/amp/news/bill-build-back-better-spending-bill-contents/ Quote SALT tax cap: This provision would actually put a sizable dent in the revenues by partially restoring a generous tax deduction that was reduced by Republicans during the Trump administration. The State and Local Tax deduction (SALT) cap, which limits the amount of state and local taxes that individuals can deduct from their federal taxes, would be raised by the social spending bill being considered by the House. The cap, which largely affects wealthier Americans in coastal Democratic-dominant states, would rise from $10,000 up to $80,000 through 2031 and then drop back to $10,000 after that. Currently, the SALT cap, which was put in place by the Republican tax cut enacted in 2016, is scheduled to expire in 2026. This would be one of the most expensive provisions in the bill, costing about $400 billion for the five years it would be in effect, and, as the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities points out, it would mostly benefit Americans who make over $200,000 per year. 1

B-Man Posted August 8, 2022 Posted August 8, 2022 It’s hard to believe that the Democrats passed a huge tax and spend bill in the middle of a recession. They’re trumpeting it as a “victory,” not caring what comes next or how it is going to hurt Americans in so many ways. All they care about is it furthers their goals and their control. But Sen. John Kennedy (R-LA), who is known for his folksy style, said it for all of us when he called what they did a “special kind of stupid.” Kennedy explained this was going to hit Louisianans and all Americans hard. He said that now “Joeflation” wouldn’t just refer to Joe Biden’s inflation but now you can add in Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) as well. Among the horrible things in the bill is a tax on oil and gas. Why in the heck would you do that when the price of gas is so high and Joe Biden is going — hat in hand — to the Saudis begging for oil? As Kennedy noted, “When you tax something, you get less of it.” Then the prices go up, even more, when the taxes are passed on to the consumers. But hey, you can just buy a $75,000 electric vehicle, right? That’s what Joe Manchin seems to think. “That’s not going to work in Louisiana. That’s not going to work across America,” Kennedy declared. Kennedy pointed out how increased taxes were going to fall on everyone, according to the non-partisan Joint Committee on Taxation. The Tax Foundation found that it will cost thousands of jobs, reduce economic output, and it would also reduce average after-tax incomes for taxpayers across every income quintile over the long run. https://redstate.com/nick-arama/2022/08/07/sen-kennedy-speaks-for-all-of-us-as-he-takes-apart-dems-for-passing-manchin-schumer-bill-n608539 .

B-Man Posted August 8, 2022 Posted August 8, 2022 HAHA, OF COURSE THEY DID YOU SCHMUCKS: WaPo: Did Senate Democrats sell us a bill of goods on climate change too? It’s bull#### all the way down, and you eat it up every time. “Conservatives warned repeatedly during this bill’s development that we tried the same strategy in 2009 in Barack Obama’s American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, which was nicknamed ‘Porkulus’ by the skeptical. The skeptical turned out to make the accurate call, which the Post now belatedly recognizes.” They always wait to recognize it until after the Democrats have gotten what they want. https://hotair.com/ed-morrissey/2022/08/08/wapo-did-senate-dems-sell-us-a-bill-of-goods-on-climate-change-too-n488133 https://www.washingtonpost.com/climate-environment/2022/08/08/will-climate-package-congress-help-those-who-need-it/ .
