Good point about the undrafteds..........and there aren't going to be as many good ones this year because the number of players in this draft is very low..........so the Bills were going to be doubly pressed to get any of the few coveted UDFA's that are available because there are less and because agents won't see a place with a lot of openings for their clients to make the roster.

Agree.  The dread years brought lots of interesting UDFAs to town, but now the opportunities are elsewhere.  So use those late picks to get that guy you otherwise might have seen as an UDFA.

Feels pretty clear that no one is trading for ertz at this point. Teams know he’s gonna be cut.

Oh, you have not been paying attention to the 56 page thread my friend.

All I can say is Beane has a pretty decent track record managing the club, and I feel like he has earned my trust until proven otherwise.

How dumb. Why do they need another OT? Is he projected to be a Center?

They need a project DT not more 6th round picks.

A shame Beane isn't as smart as you!

How quickly you forget. Bass, hodgins and Dane Jackson were 6th and 7th rounds picks last year. But let’s jump to conclusions why Don’t we??

Yes a year ago. They aren't adding another kicker. They signed Wallace and they have Jackson. So where do you see an open roster spot? Third TE and maybe fourth safety? They had to phantom IR Hodgins just to keep him. He too will find it hard to make the roster this year.

Agreed!! These guys have no shot at the roster. Moving the picks for a fourth next year would have been smarter

You are probably correct

Teams are viewing it two different ways this year it would appear. Low number of eligible players, opt outs, and lack of contact equals a poor draft class. Other teams are seeing it as a way to find gems that might have been higher picks in the more traditional years. It looks like Beane is leaning towards the latter.

If there is no available talent there, why would there be talent a round later?

The talent isn't going to get better,  but the value very well might.  It's the same reason any team trades down.

Seems that way.

To me its a numbers game and I just don't see the roster spots that are up for grabs that will make a difference.

If he swung for a TE or a DT I'd understand but another swing OT? Neither seem capable of playing center or guard so I'm perplexed

I'm sure one tackle is projected to start in 2 years. Star is still under contract, maybe they're not looking to replace him right now.

With 4 picks left, I have a sinking feeling the Bills will be able to find a project DT.

Maybe they take a project DT in the 6th round, isn't that where projects usually come from, late round picks?

I think Beane might be playing both sides of the fence when it comes to Oline. He likes these picks and can possibly trade some of the vets he has picked up on the oline for mid rounders next year once camp injuries hit.

Same with the DLine. Addison and/or Johnson could get dealt for picks.

Our roster is pretty stacked so it’s not like there were many starting spots up for grabs to begin with.

1T stands out as a hole.

Phantom ir hodgins? I guess his shoulder surgery was a phantom surgery?
