They saw what worked in the Super Bowl.  We have to be able to pressure the QB.  No problem with these picks.

Only reason that worked in the super bowl is because both KC LTs were down. Against teams with good pass rushes when kc’s LTs were healthy, the line was basically fine.

I'm worried this means we won't get an embarrassingly enormous DT now...

I hope not, I want Slaton very badly. I would trade up and call it a draft. Vea Vita coming back from injury was so huge for the Bucs. I want Slaton.

Uh, count me in the love it camp. The game is won in the trenches. We have athletes at LB and a solid secondary. If these picks hit we are gonna be the baddest team in the league.

I wonder if they are souring on Oliver and/or Epenesa. Still early for both. Interesting pick taking another dline man.

I wanted Creed Humphrey there.

Doubling down

Was just about to say the same thing....I have no problem at all with them taking a shot at a couple of high upside edge rushers

From NFL.com:

Pick Analysis

Round 2 • Pick 29 (61)

The twitchy pass rusher from Wake Forest is a disruptive player at the line of scrimmage with violent hands and a diverse collection of moves. Basham is a high-motor defender with the potential to deliver an immediate impact as a starter in Sean McDermott's defense.

What? Does Beane know we have other needs than Edge rushers?

It's a concern for all of us    :)

I like it. Way different type of player than Rousseau, and can play a few places along the line.

Hughes

Addison

Epenesa

Rousseau

Basham

Let's go!

edit: I can see Addison getting cut. Save $4M on the cap. Keep Obada maybe.

Ha - just got a txt from someone I know - their son-in law is a distant cousin of Basham

And I once was on a plane with Macho Man

Now if we can get Bobby Brown III in the 3rd-5th range?........ God help the rest of the NFL.

I guess they think they’re a few pass rushers away….hard to argue. Maybe a Ertz signing and a late RB….and let’s roll!!!

Maybe a Late slot-wr

Where are all those posters that said Beane drafts BPA?  Another pass rusher!  I would have taken the center from OK because I don't think much of Morse.  But I've been beating the drum of needing to address the pass rush for three years so I can live with this move.
