Another way to look at the TH situation

Recommended Posts

Speculating about what player the Bills could have gotten in the 05 draft by trading TH for a pick is pointless right now, we will never ever know what player they could have picked.

Lets assume TH is going to be a part of the Bills in 2005. In the worst case scenario, lets say WM goes down for a 6-8 week period. Id be willing to bet any sum of money that TH will be EXTREMELY motivated to play his best football so he can get bigger $ elsewhere next year.

Teams know that they will have to pay for TH after this year and they will not give the Bills much for TH, so why not keep him here in case there is any problems with WM? So having a backup like TH, we could do a lot worse, and if TH keeps the team going and helps earn the Bills a playoff spot, then WM comes back and he is ok, and then Henry leaves, I think we as Bills fans would sign off on that right now.

Maybe this notion that the Bills have to get something for a player that is going to leave is of a result of the Peerless Price situation. Unfortunately, it does not always work that way. Ideally it would be great to get something for a player when they leave, but that is the exception, and not the rule.
