In this case, I think Rodgers is actually doing the team a favor. Better to get a huge haul for him now than have to make the decision to let him go when he plays a year or two too long. This way, Rodgers looks like the bad guy, the separation was going to happen eventually, and you'll be able to get one of the top 5 guys. 1
