I think it is a tad early for Gowan and there were other corners there I'd prefer but don't hate it and I'm a bit "meh" on the two 5th rounders but think Hawkins and Wallow would be good 6th and 7th round value and the top two picks are high ceiling swing for the fences types. 

 

 

Yeah.........that would be a very exciting prospect haul.

 

Rousseau is one of my top 3 guys I expect could be there at 30.........Moore is worth the risk at 61 and gives you a lot more juice than Etienne as a playmaker.........Gowan I also think is early but he could be a good fit in this defense.

 

Key positions in first three rounds.......high ceilings......I'll take that.

 

Yeboah is a guy I could see being a Gerald Everett type.........Hawkins could be a very low cost, one-cut running scheme fit with the same kind of speed as a runner as  Etienne for pennies on the dollar.........Wallow is another swing at a Milano-type late.

 

I will be surprised if they don't draft a safety somewhere but I like those names.

When i can’t seem to trust my eyes on a player, either good or bad, I know I can count on you to help me see straight.  
 

interesting to see Dyami ahead of Bateman and Elijah Moore.  I’ve been watching a ton of WR tape this month and I’ve got a crush on both Bateman and Moore.  If either of them are our pick @30, I think we’ll be really happy with our prize.  Dyami is my 7th WR.....and if he were our 30th pick, I’d be happy as well.  I think this WR class is slightly better than last years as I feel the top 5 are about equal in both years but the depth through rd 4 is mouth watering this year imo (Eskeridge, Toney, Eskeridge, Collins, st brown, Stevenson, smith- marsette, rodgers, atwell, Darden, Felton, sho smith and more).  

wondering what you didn’t like about Bateman and Moore?  Or is it because you just love Dyami?

Yea I really like Dyami. After him I have Toney, Bateman and Elijah Moore as my other three round 2 graded receivers, with Rondale Moore just on that 2nd round / 3rd round borderline. The reason I have Dyami at the head of that queue is I think he can be, probably not right off the bat but a couple of years into his career, a #1 guy. His route tree needs to expand but the routes he was asked to run at UNC he was a technician with them. His route running is probably only bettered by Chase and Smith in the class. 

 

On Bateman, I don't dislike him. I think he is going to be a really solid, productive, #2 receiver. I have said it before but he reminds me some of Robert Woods (but without the run blocking). He is tough, goes over the middle and not slow but not someone who is going to burn you deep. He lacks a bit of burst for me, especially when cutting and I don't think he plays as big as his size if that makes sense. He can play just think with Brown there is a higher ceiling. 

 

On Elijah Moore, it is the size, the drops and the fact he is "slot only". I always mark down a guy who I think is slot only because I just feel like that is a spot where it is easier to find contributors later in the draft and in free agency.

Thanks.  Makes sense.  Not sure what it is about him, but want to believe that Elijah can also play on the outside on occasion.  Press coverage will be an issue for him, but he has the footwork and burst to make a cb pay dearly if he beats them off press.  His arms might be too short to beat press consistently, but I don’t think they’re too short to make catches along the sideline.  He tracks the ball pretty well and has the feel to battle for contested balls.  I don’t think he makes it to us @30.

Matt Miler thinks Elijah will be the 4th WR taken so pretty safe bet he is gone before #30 and that would just be a bit rich for my tastes.

I was just revisiting last year and found out that in my local community mock I had picked Terrace Marshall for us since I felt another WR would be great for our offense. IIRC WR was widely considered as an option aroung here.

 

I was wondering how he was doing his rookie year since I didn't remember hearing his name much so I checked his stats. He played 15 games and had 17 catches for 138y and 0 TDs. I know that Panthers didn't exactly shined at QB but still - he was 9th in receiving in the team. Gunner, or anybody else, any idea what went wrong in his rookie year?

 

While we are at it, Dyami Brown also played 15 games and had 12 catches for 165y and ended up 10th (!) in WFT receiving. I think that many people wanted him to Bills in 3rd round, and he went shortly before our pick.

Two similar stories I think. Both had nice pre-seasons, won starting jobs but then had disappointing years and ended up benched. Both had niggling injuries, both were in unstable Quarterback situations and both were mis-cast in their offenses. Marshall was used exclusively as a big slot. He can do that but I think his better fit is outside and Dyami was basically just used as a deep threat which fails to take advantage of his route running. 

 

Big years coming up for both.
