DrDawkinstein Posted April 22, 2021 Posted April 22, 2021 The good ol days. Could watch this all day. A longer video with replay and analysis... "He lined him up, he sized him up, he laid him out." 5 Quote

4_kidd_4 Posted April 22, 2021 Posted April 22, 2021 Oof. 15 years ago me was definitely like “yeah that’s right you better stay down!!!” Mid-forties me is now like “oh that poor kid, that’s not good”. However, any time me is always like “eff Philly & eff you too Ken Hitchcock”. 1 Quote
Nextmanup Posted April 22, 2021 Posted April 22, 2021 (edited) I love this and still watch it every now and again when I need a pick-me-up. It might very well be the best hit I have ever seen thrown while watching a live hockey game. My favorite part is RJ saying "And now they're all chasing after Campbell!" "Chasing" is such a great choice of word in that context. Anyone only listening solely to the radio broadcast would have heard the crowd going insane and that tone in RJ's voice--like all hell had broken loose on the ice and absolutely anything might happen next, with the entire Philly team "chasing after" Brian Campbell. Just awesome. NHL hockey doesn't have nearly enough incidents of this type in it anymore. Edited April 22, 2021 by Nextmanup 3 Quote

billsfanmiamioh Posted April 22, 2021 Posted April 22, 2021 I was next to Umberger at a CBJ game a couple weeks ago. (Our seat “pod” was right next to the TV broadcast table and they interviewed him between periods). Kinda wanted to walk by muttering Brian Campbell 3 Quote

I thought that was a clean hit then and do now, Umberger had his head down and Campbell dropped him. .... I know that because of the Covids there is nobody at the place now (or limited). But that place has been like a funeral parler for way too long. Lets hope we can see the playoffs next year. 1 1 Quote

It was absolutely a clean hit Shoulder against jaw because RJ had his head down thanks to a buddy pass Soupy didn't leap or use his elbow.. he just lined him up and sent him down 1 Quote
