Doctors state that they expect he will be back for the season.  Glad to hear it .. must have been tough on him.

In his presser, Beane said he got his clearance and he's actually at One Bills Drive working out, said he's got a couple more checks to clear but they expect him to be full-go

He looks so awkward, but he gets it done

I'm not much of a college football fan - are college completed catch rules different than pros?

Rules in terms of # of feet in bounds, or just “what is a catch?”

yes on both accounts.

There was a sideline catch in that highlight clip that would have been clearly out in the NFL, is why I asked.

Is it just me, or does he look awkward to everyone?

I didn’t watch the highlights but you only need one foot (or body part) inbounds in college

In a way, he does look awkward.

He's not a spectacular Tight End. He's not going to burn defenders, but he will get you that first down when you need it, and a touchdown as well.

Good on TS! He’s been through some of the nasty side effects that someone recovering from C 19 can go through, hoping all the best to him and his continued health!

Covid-19 sucks...especially the long-hauler effects they are uncovering.

Was worried for Sweeney as you can't be an athlete and have your ticker missing beats.

Thought it could turn into a chronic  myocardial arrhythmia.

Good news for the kid.

He actually looked better than Knox in training camp in 2019 before all the issues. I hope he comes back strong. We could use some TE help.  I actually have some hope for Hollister too.  We aren't getting Pitts and I'm not sure how much Friermouth is better than the three we have to give up a premium draft pick.  Would rather get more help at DE/DT/CB/RB/OLB before TE unless he is a game changer.

Looks like large catch radius and good hands. Not much YAC for as big as he is. As was mentioned: looks like he needs off season ballet to get more balance and fluidity...🕺

Hard to go to Canada for ballet with border closed.

Most of the catches I saw in that highlight film were "open when I'm covered" catches where he was either boxing the defenders off of the ball to make the catch and being hit by 1 or two guys immediately as he caught it - not a lot of YAC there - or else diving for it.   Other times he was fighting his way to the marker.

I like the hands though

He came out of college with the reputation of being more a blocking tight end than a receiving TE, I thought

This seems to capture the receiving part of what I saw in that highlight film:
