True but you have to figure the Yanks will cool off a little at some point as they obviously won't keep winning at this rate. But 4 back with 36 left is definitely doable. Should be a good race to the end.

The Rays could cool off as well.  But yes, should be a good race.

This should be a lesson for Cashman about how you build a baseball team. Ya know, with balance!

The speed and left handed hitting has brought a dimension that they were sorely missing. Hell even Judge is stealing bases now.

This may well be the year the streak of winning seasons ends. At best, I see them going 85-77.

The Yankees (82-64) clinched their 29th straight winning season tonight.

The 1926-1964 Yanks hold the major north american sports record with 39 straight winning seasons.

Montreal Canadiens hold the #2 all-time spot with 32 straight from 1952-1984.........Yanks should pass the Habs in 25' and have two streaks totaling 72 consecutive winning years in a 100 year span.

Wasn't too long ago that Yankee fans only crowed about championships. Anything less was beneath them.

The Habs record shouldn't count.  There was a time when the whole hockey world centered around Quebec talent and the Montreal Canadiens had exclusive rights to the players/talent coming out of Quebec... For many years up until around 1970... So years before that shouldn't count. Totally rigged system.   At least the Yankees competed fairly when it came to talent.  They did it the old-fashioned way... Bought their talent, not have exclusive rights to it! And there was no playoff system, only the two best teams during regular season advanced to WS.  The playoffs were the 154/162 game season. 😉

Yup, thought of this last night. Chad Green is on my fantasy team. Oof. 14 homers in 75 innings. That’s not good.

It still is, just b.c someone is saying facts doesn't mean it has changed. Winning is everything.

They've won 5 championships in that span.

And yes, the Yanks have won 16 titles in 29 years before.

But to put those 5 in perspective.........in MLB only the Cardinals have won more than 5 WS titles in any 29 year stretch.......they did it 6 times from from 20's-40's.

And Everson Pereira now has 13 HR in 97 AB in A+ and Randy Vasquez has been having a great rise as a RHP of late(jumping from nowhere to Double A in one season).........glad they weren't included in that Gallo trade.

Yanks are playing good ball at just the right time.  That's a good reminder that it is a long season.  So sorry haters.

I'm a Yankee hater but it's a great point that it's a long season.  Too many alleged baseball fans fail to understand that . And I am speaking about friends that don't post/read here - although I've seen it here too. Rushes to judgement on a baseball season are laughable.

The strange thing about baseball is how it quickly turns from a marathon to a sprint.  That's in large part due to post-season TV schedules.
