I don't think there is a player I find more painful to watch in baseball than Giancarlo Stanton. On the surface, his numbers are OK (but terrible for a guy making $30 million a year), but watching him repeatedly wave feebly at sliders WAY off the plate is almost like an anti-sporting event. When Judge strikes out, it's usually a competitive at bat. When Stanton strikes out, not so much.

Stanton literally should only bat against lefties.   It's that bad.   Even his 114 mph singles are mostly useless because he can't run the bases and he's always in the middle of a bunch of guys who can't move runners over.

If George were still in charge they would have eaten the balance of the contract and dealt him to the Angels by now.   When you figure in the $ he's owed......possibly their worst acquisition ever.

But still........drop in the pocket when you consider the profits they are making under Hal versus George.

Someone should call Cashman and let him know that the Yankees' pitching sucks and that trying to win games 10-9 every night isn't a great recipe for success.

Someone should tell the Mets they’re a Triple A team.

Glad they hung onto Pereira.   5-5 tonight with 2 HR.  Now hitting .355 with 10 HR.     Anthony Volpe is having a year that puts him in the conversation of maybe having the best season of any minor leaguer in baseball..........but in his 100+ AB's Pereira is killing it similarly.     Also the Yanks brought in a base stealing specialist in the minors and the whole system is running like crazy.   Love to see it.    Can't stand watching turds like Stanton who can't beat out a 100 hop swinging bunt and are base locked after they hit a 115 mph single.

You obviously have never saw Baez play.  He is on the ir now but my god, I think he has 135 ks this year, I have never seen a MLB hitter chase so many pitches out of the strike zone, I am amazed a pitcher ever throws him a strike.

What @dave mcbride and I are talking about with Stanton is un-watchability.

Baez is a strikeout machine but he is a spectacular defensive SS and can steal bags/run the bases.

Stanton's legs are so messed up he can't run the bases........he has struggled to consistently barrel up pitches this year and has probably hit close to 20 swinging bunts that the average major league catcher could have beaten out........and he gets thrown out by 10 feet every time.

Once he gets on base it takes 3 hits to get him home.............it's tough to watch that.........and now that he is a 25-30 HR guy instead of a 35-40 HR guy he is not much fun to watch play baseball.    But at least he's playing a few games in the outfield now.......that's a plus.

He has been playing better lately. Still doesn’t look like a baseball player, however! Lots of MLB guys strike out a lot. They just don’t look as bad as Stanton doing it. Overall, while the Yanks are doing it with some smoke and mirrors now (SO many 1-2 run win games), hopefully when they they get everyone back healthy they’ll be able to keep the train rolling and a) get a big game from Cole and the bullpen in the WC game and b) take revenge on the Astros in round one. i don’t want to face the Rays. Big big series vs. the As coming up.

Yanks drop 3 of 4 against Boston and now trail the Sox by 9 after Domingo "Wife Beater" German loses his no-no bid in the 8th.

Another managerial gem by Boone, pulling him after giving up his first hit of the game.

LMFAO!

Eleven in a row. Don't think they catch Tampa but they should get a WC. I never thought that was possible the way things were going. It just shows that baseball season is so long that you can play like crap for months and still save your season.

And you can be in first place for the first four months, then completely implode, too!

Effin' Mets.

They're only 4 games back with 36 left to go.

True but you have to figure the Yanks will cool off a little at some point as they obviously won't keep winning at this rate. But 4 back with 36 left is definitely doable. Should be a good race to the end.
