All kinds of folks. Average Joes and Janes, veterans, hippies, lawyers, doctors, professors, coal miners, gay, straight...you name it. I'd estimate 10 positive horn beeps for every middle finger or taunt and this is a deep red area. One dude in a jacked up pick up kept circling playing his stupid "Dukes of Hazzard" horn. There was a young women behind me that looked a bit like Daisy. So it evened out. Best poster: "Types of Ticks - Deer Tick, Mouse tick , Luna-tik with pictures of the insects and trump. my "obey the constitution" was very tame. It was a good time and somewhat reassuring. It was a good day with nice weather here too. In the suburbs we had estimates of 1,000 people lining both sides of the street row a half mile or so. I brought my drum and found some percussionists. We had up to 7 people involved. We jammed non stop for about and hour and 15 minutes. Crowd was into it. It was fun. My favorite signs were the ones with penguins. ***** those penguins. They've been screwing us for decades. It's payback time. 1

Telling that mostly they ask "what were you protesting" as if the complaints weren't written on placards.

I didn't see any conflicts with anyone. If someone had asked me what I was protesting it would be 2 things. 1. Keep your hands off the VA health care system. They do amazing work taking care of our disabled veterans. If I thought the plan was about doing more with a more streamlined process costing less I'd be for it. Instead, the plan seems to be do less with less as programs are already being cut. 2. The Penguins. Screw the penguins. Those penguins have been screwing us for decades and I'm darn tired of it. I’ve heard conflicting stories about the level and care provided by the VA for many years., especially with respect to mental health and PTSD. I’d think there is room for improvement there, but I may be behind the current standard of care provided. Regardless, I’m with you that the goal should be top tier care. The penguins I’m not so sure of. I’m neither pro nor con, but heard some people with a different perspective were actually protesting costs associated with the studies of the menstrual cycles of the cross dressing mini mice of Paraguay. Not sure if there was any street corn, folk music or face painting, they’re a serious bunch. 1

Even putting aside the fact that "clean coal" is an oxymoron, it's a completely dead industry! It's not profitable against natural gas or renewables, and the coal unions are so shrunken down that there isn't much of a job base for it anymore.
