B-Man Posted February 28, 2024 Posted February 28, 2024 In win for Paxton, court declares $1.7 trillion federal omnibus was passed unconstitutionally Just the News, by Ben Whedon Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton on Tuesday secured a major victory in his challenge to the $1.7 trillion omnibus spending package passed in 2022, with a court declaring that the bill was approved unconstitutionally. President Joe Biden signed the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2023 in December of the prior year. The measure effectively set the federal budget for the year by wrapping the 12 annual appropriations bills into a single piece of legislation.
