And here is why she made this deal Quote She pleaded guilty on Thursday morning to six misdemeanor counts of conspiracy to commit intentional interference of election duties. Ms. Powell, who appeared in a downtown Atlanta courtroom, was sentenced to six years of probation for the charges, a significantly less-severe outcome than she would have faced if found guilty of the charges for which she was originally indicted, which included a violation of the state racketeering law Edited October 19, 2023 by B-Man 1 1
B-Man Posted October 22, 2023 Posted October 22, 2023 JOHN NOLTE: Taylor Swift Humiliates Hollywood Again — Trounces Leo’s ‘Flower Moon.’ In its second weekend Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour grossed another $32 million, humiliating Leonardo DiCaprio’s Killers of the Flower Moon, which debuted to just $22 million. Why is this important? Here’s why… Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour was produced by … Taylor Swift and her team. It was also distributed by … Taylor Swift and her team. Swift Inc. froze Hollywood out and went straight to the theater chains. The result has been a box office triumph. In its first weekend, The Eras Tour grossed $93 million domestic and $124 million worldwide. After only three days, Swift already had the highest-grossing concert film in history. Moreover, she enjoyed the second biggest October opening weekend ever. Only Joker (2019) topped her, and… Hollywood had nothing to do with any of it. Hollywood did not make one penny off of it. And… This so terrifies Hollywood that Hollywood’s palace guards at the far-left Hollywood Reporter spent 1,500 words last week spinning Swift’s box office triumph into a mistake. And what was the mistake? She didn’t distribute The Eras Tour through the same studios that advertise at the far-left Hollywood Reporter. And if Martin Scorsese is angry at superhero movies, then imagine how feels about being bested by Taylor Swift. https://www.breitbart.com/entertainment/2023/10/21/nolte-taylor-swift-humiliates-hollywood-again-trounces-leos-flower-moon/ https://www.indiewire.com/features/general/martin-scorsese-marvel-movies-not-cinema-theme-parks-1202178747/ .

About 10 years ago after he told me all the good they did I showed him all the crap they now represented and he stopped giving them any money. He is amazed that such a noble principle could be misused this way. I have always been more cynical so I am not. 2
Joe Ferguson forever Posted October 28, 2023 Posted October 28, 2023 2 things 1. great article: https://thehill.com/opinion/congress-blog/4281108-the-deep-inequity-of-the-anti-college-movement/ 2. the band last night had a black transvestite lead singer. he was ok. why does every damn band have Mustang Sally in their sets? anyway, the light in the mens room wasn't on i guess for ambiance. I told the women who runs the center and said i'll just go in the ladies. She said "no" and escorted me downstairs. meanwhile the transvestite is belting out stevie wonder on stage....

One thing I thought was interesting was basically an issue was that this law is basically a hammer, there's no subtlety at all. Even if the sex worker discloses their condition and uses safe practices with their client, boom violent sex offender. So I can see how their might be some issues with the law. Also see how there is some unease with the sex offender label in general it's got a pretty serious connotation behind it that people don't really examine where it came from. Still knowingly having unsafe sex with someone who doesn't know is essentially assaulting them. 1 1

Roundybout Posted October 31, 2023 Posted October 31, 2023 (edited) Quote Of course, we might repeat one more time that much of the food and weapons and other goods America sends to places like Israel and Ukraine are actually made by Americans. And yet many Republican leaders (and their propaganda arm at Fox and other outlets) continue to talk about aid as if some State Department phantom in a trench coat meets the president of Ukraine or the prime minister of Israel in an alley and hands over a metal briefcase filled with neatly wrapped stacks of bills. We need to stop asking people in diners about foreign aid. (Populists who demand that we rely on guidance from The People should remember that most Americans think foreign aid should be about 10 percent of the budget—a percentage those voters think would be a reduction but would actually be a massive increase.) Instead, put our national leaders on the spot to explain what they think foreign aid is, where it goes, and what it does, and then call them out, every time, when they spin fantasies about it. Otherwise, legislators such as Johnson will be able to sit back and let the folks at the pie counter believe that he’s going to round up $75 billion and send it back home. https://www.theatlantic.com/newsletters/archive/2023/10/the-diner-trap/675841/?utm_source=feed Good take!! Asking people in diners works for local politics, but not for national and global politics that they cannot possibly comprehend. Edited October 31, 2023 by Roundybout 1
