Saw an interview she did a few years ago when she was a mere 100 and she said she wanted to write books about normal kids because all the childrens books in the 1920s were mostly about English kids who had nannies and pony carts and "I thought they were a bunch of sissies"

Spunky lady, may she RIP.

I had no idea that she was still alive... but, I'm pretty sure I have read all of her books. RIP. Loved those books as a kid.

same here— had no idea she was still alive. Lots of classic books. I distinctly remember “Dear Mr. Henshaw” as a kid— that book stuck with me for years. Been cool reading her Ramona books now with my 9-year old.
