THis guy was on a hall of fame pace.. We all know what happened to him over the last three years. But this guy can play. Last year with the Cowboys was solid. He would be the best pass rusher we have had since Bruce Smith. High risk ... high reward. His talent is undeniable and could take this defense to the next level.. Minimum veterans salary with a lot of incentives for production. Let’s go Bills

Why can’t people ever start threads like this without saying something completely idiotic. He would in no way be anywhere near our best pass rusher since Bruce, he probably wouldn’t even be the best pass rusher on our 2021 roster.

Obada still leaves the door open for a edge rusher to be added. He's more of a utility pass rusher, line up all over. 

 

So I'm still hoping for a veteran edge player added.

I just ignored most of it. Lol. But I think he wants a veteran edge rusher, so I agreed.

Go check the stats.. besides Bruce and one year of Bryce Puap who is better than Aldon Smith. Don’t say Aaron Schobel or Kelsey.. Aldon Smith minus the other problem is a hall of fame talent and would be the best pure pass rusher on this team. Again high risk, high reward.. Wr have a bunch of guys.. no game changers.. We need one..

High risk is right.  Aldon Smith is exactly the kind of character guy that the Bills try to avoid.  I would expect that if he were to show up and agree to play for free, they still wouldn't want him within a mile of their facility.

Yes Mario was good for us... but go look at Mario numbers in his first 3-4 years against Aldon Smith. The bottom line is we are not winning a Super Bowl with our front four who cannot get to the quarterback without blitzing.

If he could get back to his 19 sack level of play,  yes that would be the best pass rusher they've had since Bruce.

 

I would really be surprised if they brought him in.......he's got a lot of baggage and is more of a 3-4 OLB.

 

He started out great then was ineffective for most of the season but the fact that Dallas doesn't seem to want him back at any price..........makes me wonder if he wasn't slipping off the field last season.

Stats are one thing. Character and commitment to the process is another. Smith my have the stats, but the character and commitment are seriously lacking. No thanks.

Huh? Fromm?  When did he commit like 10 off-field incidents, including multiple drug and domestic violence offenses?  

 

In any event, you have to follow the team enough to know that Beane wouldn't go near Smith.

Last year, he had 5 sacks but they all came in two games.  He had 12 solo tackles last year, 11 of which came in one game.  

 

When Dallas declines to re-sign a troubled defensive lineman, that should give you pause.  They love those guys.
