jimmy10 Posted March 26, 2021 Posted March 26, 2021 One thing I think we can credit Beane with: Dude is a planner. 6
Warcodered Posted March 26, 2021 Posted March 26, 2021 I mean early would obviously be preferable, I'm also pretty sure he's said if they can't get it done now/soon they'll get it done later. 1
Steve Billieve Posted March 26, 2021 Posted March 26, 2021 Really hoping we get 10 year deal done this off-season. 2

NewEra Posted March 26, 2021 Posted March 26, 2021 He should. His price has already gone up since the season ended. 1
BringBackFergy Posted March 26, 2021 Posted March 26, 2021 Not sure why there’s a rush. Let’s see how Trubisky does before taking on an albatross contract. Beane might be posturing. 2 1 13 1
Freddie's Dead Posted March 26, 2021 Posted March 26, 2021 Time is money. McBeane takes mo' time, Josh gets mo' money. The price tag will only increase. GIT 'R' DUN!!!! 1

Similarly, why pay a Bojo type QB over 10 years when you can sign a Haack type QB for $2 million per over 10 yrs. With a higher cap, we can sign better players to surround Trubes (like Gronk, Ju Ju and Adrian Pederson) 3
Mr. K Posted March 26, 2021 Posted March 26, 2021 "I can't plan four... three and a half years in the future" Said Brandon Beane never. 1 1 1

Because the standard is to extend before the fourth season. If you do not then you get into the Dak/Dallas situation of playing on franchise tags. 1

Dr.Sack Posted March 26, 2021 Posted March 26, 2021 (edited) Duffs wings, Momma Pecoraro’s 10-year old used truck every 5 years, Tim Horton’s, Labatt Blue, and Sabres tickets 50% off should do it. Edited March 26, 2021 by Dr.Sack

I read you’re comment, and then looked up and saw it was you who wrote it. You had me for a quick second. Guys, he was kidding. I’ve been reading Ferg’s comments for years and this smells of wisears to get a rise out of us. It’s one of the things I like about him. Edited March 26, 2021 by machine gun kelly 2
Thurman#1 Posted March 26, 2021 Posted March 26, 2021 " 'It helps you for your planning the sooner you can get that contract done,' Beane told NFL Media's Jim Trotter and Steve Wyche on the Huddle & Flow podcast, via NFL.com. 'Again, I hope that we can get him done, if not this year, next year. You don't want to get into the franchise (tag) and all that stuff. It's a tool that you use if you have to to keep a great player, but at the end of the day, we want Josh here for the long term.' " This is huge. 2
machine gun kelly Posted March 26, 2021 Posted March 26, 2021 I thought there had to be some spin on what he actually said. Thanks Thurm.
