The Bills' roster is currently constructed to win the Super Bowl in the next two years.

Beane has re-signed last year's squad. A solid start for continuity as a playoff contender.

Now we must go over the top! This year may be the best shot to win the Lombardi. This team must go "All-In" during this brief window! This is the season where we are 1-2 pieces away.

If we need a Najee Harris/Etienne, a George Kittle, a Khalil Mack-type of player, go for it! Whatever player or two will fill those missing pieces, go and get it.

Kick the can down the road a year or two. I don't care. Trade our picks, cut a popular overpaid veteran, restructure another deal or two. Anything less than "all-in" this year takes away this window.

Yes, Allen and our younger core make it so a second window can come open in the next 10 years.

Barring significant injury, the Bills' are playoff caliber this decade.

But, this first window is wide open right now! A 2nd window is highly probable but no guarantee.

Allen will never be cheaper. The Patriots and Jets have not gained much ground. The Ravens do not have enough offense or the Titans. The Steelers are rarely this messed up. Miami is not a threat yet. Brees is done and Rodgers may have missed his 2nd window these past two years.

And, as talented as the Bills' young core is, future contracts will be massively more expensive. Depth will be harder to maintain and we may not have this many players in or around their prime for awhile.

Get that DE/RB/TE/LB/TE or whatever will fill our championship hole!

Ask Dan Marino and Elway about their first open window. Marino never got a 2nd one. Guys like Elway and Manning squeezed through their 2nd window and did so with significant support and a fair amount of lucky timing.

Now is not the time to settle for really good. Now is the right time to push the ante upward.

Throw the haymaker. Bring in the closer. Go for the jugular. Make the kill shot.

This is the Window. This is the Way! (Fun Mandalorian reference). 🏈

They have pretty much just brought back most of the roster that went 13-3..

Speaking of which........the AFCCG is being replayed at 9 pm on NFL network tonight.

The Bills could draft a Harris/Etienne in the 1st round without kicking anything.

The Kittle thing is this.  He was a 5th round pick.  His big yards receiving is due to his targets.

What is the difference if his has 1300+ yards as a TE with more targets than the next 3 pass receivers or having a Diggs and the

other WRs?  Yards passing is yards passing and to me it doesn't matter who is catching the ball.

While it would be great to have a TE with top qualities the fact is he will not get the targets to give him those numbers.

The Bills WRs are getting those targets.  The Bills IMO need a "stealthy" TE that gets catches at opportune times.

Currently the Bills will probably not have a top 10 pick to draft a Mack type player so the only way is luck with a lower pick

or to go "big time" in FA.   It's points against on Defense and the Bills and Bears are tied with that stat the last 2 years combined.

The defense is going to live and die with McDermott and his scheme so we might as well let him and Beane do what they are doing this year.

For the previous 3 years this board and the majority of Bills fans said that this team was going to be a Defense first with limited

offensive power.  Beane and McDermott don't know offense and that's just the way it's going to be!  Well Beane and McDermott

proved that wrong just last year!

As to "kicking the can" the Bills are a good team because of Beane's vision of a complete team.  For the record in a way they

don't kick the can because they use money for all the other players needed for a team to succeed.

Currently the Bills have no cap left next year with 39 players signed.

Give them this year to see if a ring can come with their system (process)!

I'm pumped for this upcoming season, no doubt about it.

But to be honest, if Beane didn't do a single solitary thing else to this team this off-season, I wouldn't complain, not a lick.

The man continually amazes me.  In no way shape or form did I expect us to retain Milano, Williams AND Mongo, yet here we sit with all three intact and ready to rock and roll.

Anything from this point on as far as FA signings IMO is just gravy.  But something in me tells me Beane is far from done.

Just stop - let the man building the team keep going - do not waste the next 15 years for 1 questionable year.

Just keep improving like they are doing.

Championship in-reach requires the last pieces. 13-3 or resigning good players are great things.

The whole point is to go all-in. 2nd place bridesmaid status is status quo now.

The bar is being in the Big Game and goal to clear it.

A better RB, a stronger pash rush (Obada) is a nice #3 DE, or a TE that causes matchup problems.

Need 2 of those 3: (prefer DE/RB) impact player.

No DE in draft offers that year #1.

Absolutely trade draft picks, kick a can a little down the road, or create space and make a trade.

Notice that Kelce, Gronk, Edwards-Helaire, Ronald Jones, Dee Ford, Fournette, and Barrett play for the best two teams. Notice the positions.

No, we won't get them but Addison, Hughes, Singletary, Moss, Knox, Hollister won't get us over.

All-in. No runner-up or participation trophies. The danger of being a very good team is not taking that last or last leap/risk to win it all.

That is those last two impact players that change how we are defended and how a team adjusts its offense.

Anything less than an above average/solid pash rusher and a running back who catches out if the backfield and has some burst is neutral.

Bills brass knows that as well as the team and their opponents.

👍😀

So your plan is push everything in and if it fails and we can’t compete in the future it was worth it?

For what and who are you trying to spend significant money to get better.  You want to push significant CAP money into future years, but have given nothing.  What magic DE, TE, and RB makes this 13-3 team significantly better?

You list a bunch of guys from KC and TB and the truth is those players are all insignificant.  The fact is Brady and Mahomes made those 2 teams.  Most of TB was there last year without Brady and did not make the playoffs. Suddenly Brady arrives and bam those guys are another level and win a SB.

KC won the Super Bowl the year before without CEH and Dee Ford isn’t on either team - he is in SF and they didn’t make the playoffs.

The fact is this is a terrible LAMP post as all you do is whine about spending more money.  You want me to take it seriously- give some names - what DE are you signing that gives you significant improvement over Addison and AJ and at what cost as we are already borrowing from an uncertain future.

Which TE should the Bills suddenly add that takes the place of Knox and fills a role on the team?  Where are we getting this magical TE and what are you willing to spend.

What RB left after today’s deal do you want added now that brings a championship to Buffalo - who are these Big 3 that we should be going out and getting - that every other team is overlooking - that we should mortgage our entire future for.

There isn’t anyone - so you can’t give name - you can just say now is the time to push it all in without opening your eyes and realizing that Beane is going for it.  He already spent more than he planned because he had to restructure Tre White - which was a limited resource that he only wanted to use in case.

He limited flexibility and money in future years maintaining a 13-3 team - while other teams have fallen.  He looks at the future and what we will need next year and makes calculated choices based upon the fact that we still don’t know what the CAP will be the next 2 years as the NFL recoups 30+ million from the next 2 cap years.

I can’t help you to see what is going on right in front of you - that requires you to process what is happening.  If you just want to complain- great, but at least add something to you post so we can discuss or put this in any of 10 other threads already complaining about a lack of DEs, RBs, and TEs.

Yessssssssss!!!!!!! im fired up! you set your team up to be in a position of top 4 as best as you can, and if you can bring everyone back, you take any shot you can to get over the hump.  i think coaching staff has got the experience needed the last few years, and likely their last season all together again! go for broke or regret it later on LOMBARDIIIIIIIII

whatever they do, I hope they somehow get what they need to defend the Chiefs this time around. If Bills do get back to the AFCCG, it's a very, very good chance they see them again.

BillsShredder83... Thank you. Someone put sandpaper on Rochester's toilet seat. He thinks trading a 1st round pick, cutting an overpriced veteran, or restructuring a deal is mortgaging the future.  The future is here and now. For some reason, some fans think bringing back the roster almost entirely intact guarantees a 13-3 season and the AFC Championship Game.

Yes...it is great...We are a top 4 team as you said. Unfortunately, people complain when facts are presented that it would not be cost-prohibitive now or in the next couple of years to give up a little draft capital and restructure/cut some fat in order to bring in a DE/TE/Edge Linebacker, etc.

Is there a player or two you think the Bills could get in a trade?  We could cut guys like Singletary, Matevich, Butler, and maybe tack on a year to Hughes deal to free up cap space. There are definitely some players on teams not going anywhere that has a player that could help us take the next step.

Don't get me wrong...Breida is a good player (solid addition). Ebada looks like a bargain. These guys add depth and versatility to our roster. They make the roster stronger with forthcoming injuries. We need about 40+ guys like them on our team.

I am just looking for 1-2 of those needle movers that bring us to the Big Dance.

Nothing less than a Lombardi will suffice, but it doesn’t look like the FO is going qll

in on winning the Lombardi this year.  That is definitely their goal.....but they aren’t all in.  If they were they’d restructured dawkins, poyer and Diggs to create more space and would have signed a pass rusher.  They still have their eye on sustained success.....which is fine.....until you don’t win a super bowl in the next 5 years.

Maybe we can win one without “going all in”.  Sure hope so, cuz this regime is playing the long game so far

I agree. The best window to win SB is this season, while Josh is on rookie contract. As soon as he gets huge money of cap Bills will loose 2-3 strong players.
Seattle had their SB window while Russel was with rookie money. His new contract destroyed legion of boom

once again like who? - you complain you want a needle mover - who is that.

The Bills keep making moves and you do not give ideas or anything - just you want needle movers.

Who is the 1st round player you want to trade - then we can talk.

Who is this TE or DE needle mover and what are you willing to spend?

Lets cut Singletary, Our best ST LB, Butler (after his restructure or before?).

Worst of all let’s tack a year on Hughes to save a few million - when we can get out of the contract next year.  This is what they did with Star and it backfired when he sat out.

Great now you freed up 7 million dollars, but you need another DT - where is that coming from and at what cost?

You do understand we also still need to sign nearly 20 guys prior to camp right?  We are at 65 and have 7 picks.

All I keep asking is who are the needle movers you want - this is your thread and your complaint- what would make you happy?

Are you happy if they restructure Dawkins also and take 13 million for a DE like Clowney - does that move your needle.  Does he really make the Bills better because he sure did not make Seattle or Tennessee better.

Are you happy if they trade a 1st or 2nd to Philly for Ertz and his 8+ million contract?  Is that a needle mover?

Would it be better if they gave up their 1st, 2nd, and 3rd and probably a high pick next year to get Pitts in the draft?

I just want to know WHO!!  You could be right on or you could be way off, but saying we need to go all in and not giving any (not even one miserable player) that fits your criteria - what are we supposed to do.

I’m interested in how the Bills respond to playing under the weight of raised expectations. It’s an entirely different kind of pressure. I think back to that ‘89 team that didn’t respond well at all, although the events of that season galvanized them for the success that followed. I’m confident, however, that we have more mature leadership at the key positions, though, so that should mitigate the issue.
