IOW stupid.  "Oh look, Biden went to the border (after 2 years, 63 weekend visits to Delaware and the House flipping).  The Repubs can't use it against him anymore."

Clown show.

Maybe this Kate is a good person but this has nothing to do with emotions.  But the progressive-regressive mind defines every issue and event with emotion and feeling so it's only natural they project that view onto everyone else.  I think there's a lot of curiosity about the motivation here after ignoring the place for a couple years that suddenly the President and his handlers have decided to take a trip to the border.  It looks like to run the victim and blame the other guy play.  I have full confidence the Republicans with complete knowledge its coming but will still be woefully unprepared to respond.

We don't need workers.  Based on around a 62% workforce participation rate we have plenty of citizens that choose not to enter the workforce because they can get "paid" more through various forms of Federal and State assistance to stay home.  Its the classic labor/leisure principle.  If you get $15 an hour to stay home all day or $16 to get up at 6 AM every day to work a 40 hour week which would you choose?

Also, people at the border are generally presenting themselves, and being processed, as asylum seekers.  People fleeing from political persecution or are in danger from one thing or another in their home country.  People coming into the country for economic reasons do not qualify to be processed as a person seeking asylum.

Yes, we do, actually. If people that are here and don't want to work, lets get real workers in. The American workers, mostly from rural areas, are not working for some reason

This is a complicated economic issue but one simple fact remains…you do not simply walk into a sovereign nation wherever and whenever you choose. There isn’t a war going on in Mexico on the other side of the River. These people are not fleeing shelling. They are purposely breaking our laws.

They are fleeing failed states and economic privation. You can't deny that

I do not deny that. That doesn’t excuse them from breaking international laws.

There are work visa programs for admitting foreign workers that match specific skill deficiencies and needs in the economy.  Flooding the country in an uncontrolled manner with low skill and mostly uneducated "workers" that may or may not match to "open" jobs which may require all forms of public assistance for the foreseeable future isn't the answer.

And as far as American workers, so they don't want to work.  If they are of sound mind and body, frankly I don't care what they want.  I wouldn't want to work either if I could get all my expenses and bills paid by the taxpayer through public assistance programs.  Send me 3 or 4 grand a month and I prove my point.  We need to be honest here and start addressing the issues of motivation and incentive regarding work.

You're position is neither sound nor logical.  If every person on Earth that could improve their living standards or life migrated into the U.S. there would be more than 5 Billion people in the country.  With the only means test being their claim to asylum.  What your suggesting is we should be "compassionate" and welcome that situation.
