Biden: I've Suddenly Found the Immigration
Authority I've Been Insisting I Don't Have

Townhall, by Guy Benson

President Joe Biden is reportedly set to announce new executive actions on immigration this week, which should at least theoretically come as a surprise to anyone who has heard him insist -- repeatedly -- in recent months that he has exhausted his power to unilaterally do anything about the border crisis he's caused.

He and his team have been lying, quite obviously, as critics have been pointing out every time they've issued insultingly false denials like these.

No, they haven't been lying.

This will be enjoined by a court of an immigrant rights advocate's choosing.

“Rigberto Hoyos-Alban has been charged with four couts of sexual assault and one count of assault aganst a person with a severe mental handicap,” said ERO New England Field Office Director Todd M. Lyons. “This is not the type of individual we want walking the streets of our New England neighborhoods. ERO Boston will continue to prioritize the safety of our public by apprehending and removing violent noncitizens from our comunities.”

That's nice.

No.

He doesn't have the authority under the immigration laws, and I'm quite sure we'll see litigation immediately.

That is crazy that Trump had the authority, because he did it. When did Biden lose the authority?

When he had to appease his base.  And then he suddenly found it again when the polls started to turn.

Oh wait, that was a rhetorical question, wasn't it?

So the Remain in Mexico policy was not in place when Trump left office?

It was.  Either he's lying/being disingenuous or was truly ignorant of that fact.

Biden’s Border ‘Crackdown’ Working About as Well as We Expected.

0eb4fe36-1679-46a8-8440-b19cb26c0473-105

Joe Biden, the Cynic in Chief, has been desperate to do something about the massive influx of illegal aliens that he invited to the United States when he took office in 2021.

I'm not going to say it was the greatest mistake of any president in American history. After all, he's still got seven months to go before he's gone. But sending out an invitation to millions of desperate, hungry, endangered people to come ahead and be welcome is going to be hard to top.

So when Biden stood before the American people a little more than a week ago and promised he would close the border if illegal entries exceeded 2,500 asylum seekers a day for seven days in a row, we all thought, "Show me, Mr. President. You've got zero credibility on this issue."

Biden still doesn't have any credibility.

Not surprising. There were huge loopholes even in the policy as announced.

This may explain why I haven't heard about any litigation challenging it yet - the immigration advocacy groups may be thinking they'll just leave it alone and assume that the exceptions will swallow the rule.

EDIT: Never mind. Here it is -

https://www.aclu.org/press-releases/immigrants-rights-groups-sue-biden-administration-over-new-anti-asylum-rule

My assumption has always been that the Biden Administration put this new rule out for messaging reasons, knowing (hoping?) that a court would strike it down, thereby allowing them to shift blame back to Congress for not passing the Lankford-Schumer bill. That is actually kind of true.

Biden's Preparing a Mass Amnesty Push. Is It Even Legal?

Matt Vespa

Joe Biden’s immigration policy could be characterized as a failed experiment in chaos.

No, that’s not accurate: it was intentional.

The loss of operational control has permitted ISIS terrorists to cross into the United States. It’s underreported, but foreign nationals try to infiltrate US naval bases at a rate of at least two-to-three times a week. It’s a national security issue, and what does our president do? He’s prepping a mass amnesty push in a desperate attempt to pander to Latino voters. Biden is hoping to pass a new policy where anyone living here illegally for the past ten years can be afforded legal status (via CBS News):

President Reagan tried that and look where we are now.  Good luck.  But if it gets him elected it will be good for President Biden which is all that matters.
