Well, here we are on Sunday night with no side effects for me!

Aside from the day I got the shot, where my arm felt like someone hit me in the shoulder with a baseball bat, it looks like I came through unscathed.

However, I believe the chance for side effects is higher after the second shot....am I right on that?

The first shot (Pfizer) made me fatigued the following day.  The second shot did absolutely nothing to me.  I've heard everything from zero side effects to flu-like symptoms (body aches, chills, etc.).  I think it's best to prepare for the worst and hope for the best.  Good luck!

I get #2 Moderna Wednesday at 3pm. I work from home so worst case scenario, I can log on and off a little bit as/if needed.

Can't wait, don't care if I have side effects; just want to be fully protected (for now).

I got the first shot today; Pfizer.

After about 3 hours, my arm started hurting a touch; it's still sore 10 hours later.

No flu like side effects.

I did it at a CVS and between the stores inefficient setup, and waiting 15 minutes after the shot before they'd let me leave to make sure I had no side effects, I was in there for damn near an hour.

The actual act of getting the shot was less than 30 seconds, including cleaning my arm with an alcohol swab, being asked which arm I wanted, being told to hang my arm at my side and to relax, and then physically getting the shot.

The actual shot didn't hurt in the slightest and was finished in less than 2 seconds I would say.

It was over before it started.

I'm scheduled for shot 2 in 3 weeks.

Pharmacies are definitely not very efficient when it comes to vaccinating.
I took my elderly parents to get vaccinated at Rite Aid. Both times it was an hour long ordeal. 90% of it was just waiting for them.

Me, my sister and her fiancé all got our shots from different places (state run sites and/or hospitals) and we were all in and out in 15-20 min. for both doses.

But hey, an hour’s worth of time is a small price to pay to be vaccinated against covid.

Got the first one (Pfizer) in NF this AM. No waiting.Answer the routine questions, took temp,  show ID. Verify phone# and email which I had entered when I made the appt.  Didn't feel the needle. Wait 15 min and go.Parking was free on the streets. Probably because it isn't tourist season yet.  Drove over to the casino a block away and blew $5 on the slots.

Mother got the shot (J&J) Wednesday, Brother got first Pfizer on 3/25. Sister and BIL got first Moderna on Thursday.

This was not my experience.

I got both shots at Walgreens. They were given by a pharmacist, not an RN. The woman was 100% professional; the shots were painless and the side effects were nothing but limited arm pain which went away quickly. There was no wait at all.

I was completely satisfied.

Maybe it’s just the rite aid pharmacies we go to. We’ve been to a few different ones around us and it’s been like like that every time. Like when we go for flu vaccines, we fill out the paperwork and then have to wait usually at least 30 mins before they have the vaccine ready.

I’ll have to try Walgreens next year!

I spent two full hours in the car at the Delta Museum by the Atlanta airport. Good for you!

Our mayor secured the vaxx for the whole village (about 10k) by working with a local pharmacy.  He's a Democrat.  Election Day is tomorrow.  Think he wins? Gets re-elected?

😆... Gotta admit, was a shrewd political move.  What a beast!  😆

My 18-year-old son is getting the J&J jab later this afternoon.

Got an email from his school last night about a vax clinic being set for today for anyone 18+.  Asked Lil Gug if he wanted to get it, he shrugged and said, "okay."

Less than 10 minutes away from our house, too.

I'm hoping he doesn't have a ton of side effects because he's on vacation this week and I'm taking the rest of the week off after today.

It's just the two of us (you're welcome for the earworm), so we'll have a fully-vaxxed household.  Woo hoo!

But... Everyone over 50 sleeps for 2 hours in the afternoon.  In Mexico 🇲🇽,  they call it: "Siesta"... All ages do it.

Stay strong... You're rest habits are being tracked!

Good to see the old machine is still up and running in some parts of Illinois.

I'm not so sure how necessary the bolded comment was.

Cool real world story on vaccine protection:

I was talking to A fully vaccinated friend of the family this morning.

She decided to meet a group of friends out at the bar for drinks. She was nervous about going but went anyway. As the night went on and the drinks flowed, the masks came off.

Well, in the week following she gets a call that her (unvaccinated) friends all got covid. 9 of 12 people who went out drinking with her now have covid-19.

Not her. She’s had 3 covid tests so far and all 3 have been negative!

Well it's relevant in the state of Illinois lol just ask Nixon.  ***** gets done a certain way there.

Back on topic: in my county the percentage of folks who have had at least one dose is over 40%.

And slightly back off topic: I'm so ***** tired of the COVID commercials on the radio.

This was very good info; thank you for this.

That said, I can't quite come to terms with the last sentence, ya know?  😮 😉

Yeah I deleted that last sentence. I quickly realized how bad that sounded.

I just meant that it was cool to hear that the vaccine works, not that 9 people got covid. That’s terrible (they did refuse the vaccine, but still... obviously best wishes for a speedy recovery for them!).
