They could go Panthers, Lions, or even Philly because all could hand them a current decent QB plus first round picks in the top 10 if they wanted.

No they can't.

They have to trade him to where Watson wants to go.

Miami didn't sign Fuller to have Tua underthrow him all season.

Does he have a no trade clause he had to waive? You don’t think he would want to play with the best RB in the league?

Actually she couldn't because neither rape nor consensual sex are part of the original lawsuit as far as has been released.  It's "indecent conduct", which I had no idea was something one could complain about 🤷‍♂️

https://www.khou.com/article/news/local/deshaun-watson-lawsuit-details/285-42abe4a4-44a9-4acc-b84b-1f18579dff15

I could actually see this being consistent with Watson's claim that he's always treated women with respect (in his world view, he non-verbally tried to initiate sexual behavior, the woman non-verbally declined, he tried again, the woman said "massage is over, get dressed and leave", he got dressed and left.

I can also see where a professional massage therapist would have a different viewpoint about it, but also why she wouldn't consider it a criminal matter or go to police.  More like "the guy is a jerk, don't book him again, tell my friends"

I'm unclear on Texas legal definitions but the third lawsuit is the one that alleges forced sex (so far):

This is concerning in many, many ways. I wonder if Robert Kraft is following this and getting ready to make a serious Patriot run for Watson? They sound like they have some things in common. They could share notes on where NOT to go!

I seriously don’t get why a guy like that would have to go through the charade. A young, filthy rich professional athlete should have MUCH better options. But then, I will never pretend to understand people.

yeah, he referred to him as "Cal or Hal", which didn't raise his credibility in the Hapless Manse.

I mean, if you're enough of a Texans fan to have purchased a billboard urging them to draft Johnny Football, is it a stretch to think you might know the owner's name?

Anyone remember when Peyton Manning was accused of sexual assault by an athletic trainer?

Yes, I do.

The trainer in question immediately reported it to her supervisor, she called a Knoxville sexual assault crisis center hotline within 3 hrs, AND she was generously paid to go away by the university...$300,000 settlement as part of which she was required to leave.  It wasn't reported to the police - in fact her supervisor "I don't think this is best handled by press or police".

Peyton Manning still remembers it too, since he referred to it and her (according to his version) in the book he published in 2002.  She sued him for defamation.  The lawsuit was settled under confidential terms.

So they went the civil route before the criminal route. Can anyone think of a similar scenario? Off the top of my head, I can't. Everything about these accusations - except the number of accusers - looks suspect to me.

In the biggest and nicest house I will probably ever live in we were strangers to our neighbors, and they to us. In the smaller houses when we were all just getting started and having our kids around the same time, we were like family. A guy I haven’t seen in almost 30 years, and have rarely spoken to, called me yesterday out of the blue. It was like we never missed a beat, busting balls and laughing at old memories.

As one popular TV/radio guy says, the larger the house, the less love you feel. There is something to that in many cases.

I am VERY suspicious of these claims, but I’ve learned to wait and see.

The main thing in all of this is that Watson gets to  a team that will maximize his talents. He will bring joy to the community

and happiness to the citizens thru a good playoff run.

All this goodwill in the community will be like carbon credits to offset any slight mistakes he made along the way.

We are all human.

Honestly bro, the more money they have, the less interested they are in “getting to know” the neighbors.

They typically value their privacy and don’t go hang out with the neighbor down the street from my (very very very limited) experience.

Until this thing gets resolved, Watson has zero trade value, and at any rate, Houston would be unwise to trade him when his value is at rock bottom.  It's status quo until a lot more is known and I'm not sure how there could be a resolution before the draft.

Exactly! Watson could probably walk into bars all across the country and pick up gorgeous women in bars who would have sex with him voluntarily.

Must be a fetish or he's watched too much porn.

Regardless this just does not look good for him. At what point does the NFL conduct policy kick in?

I mean he could pay actual prostitutes to do this for him which while still illegal wouldn't be as terrible. If this whole thing is true then it's probably about power.
