Texans' Deshaun Watson accused of indecent conduct in civil lawsuit; QB denies wrongdoing

I love it that the lawyer says he knows nothing about the timing of free agency...hilarious.   With that said when it’s seven women it’s also not likely something to look away from either. This isn’t going away in a week.

He couldn't find a lawyer with a better name than....Rusty Hardin.  I mean honestly.

Rusty Hardin is a BALLER.

He used to have segments and guest spots on CourtTV back in the day.  Actually, I think he might be past his prime now, but uses the name, and hopefully some good associates, to keep the Rusty Hardin train rollin.

Wow, Watson has been a source of a lot of news lately.

Reminds me of when Antonio Brown couldn't stop making headlines a while ago.

And he ended up getting a ring... This is scary on all sides.

7 charges now? How does this man find time to play football with all of these "alleged" shenanigans going on.

Offseason and days off.  He appears to be a off specialist.

Just an aside - i love how 20+ of you flow in to this thread and basically have the same joke about this and think you’re clever. Hopefully a purge is coming SDS.

You have repeated same cheap shot posts as others many times.  Same rule?

I’d love to see the numbers vs celebrities and athletes.  I’d imagine the ratio of truth and success is quite different.

Imagination can any way you wish.  You could imagine yourself going to story about giving him a massage and he went to far.

"imagine" is the wrong term.

Pretty common phrase and term, but feel free to nitpick the words all you want, despite it not being “too” wrong at all.  Have a great evening!!

At some point does the ever increasing number of claimants become suspicious?

I don't know.  More than 265 maybe?

If someone turns out to have a repeating pattern of behavior, why is it the number of repeats that's suspicious, and not the behavior?

Again: I am not saying Watson did these things.  I find this specific lawyer distasteful, and not credible in his press/SM appearances.  But in the end, it's not about the lawyer's sleaze factor, it's about whether or not the accusers are credible and whether/how much corroborating evidence there may be.  And that's unknown at present.

You’re saying 22 people had these experiences and didn’t say anything? Not saying that’s impossible, but it seems harder to reconcile.

Larry Nassar was accused of sexual abuse by more than 265 different women over more than 2 decades - who didn't say anything, until someone did.  And there turned out to be immense amounts of evidence, some kept by Nassar himself. 😱

Again to be clear, I'm not saying Watson is anything like Larry Nassar, or that he even abused 1 woman in any way at this point.

I'm just saying that the idea that a large number of women may individually experience abuse yet also individually make "career decisions" to keep quiet, see-and-avoid, and keep on keepin' on does not seem hard to reconcile to me, given other cases that have come out.

It’s just an awful situation, all around.  There are so many ways to look at this and make guesses, but for me, the more that come forward, the less skeptical I become.

that is, provided I DON’T look at the lawyer representing the plaintiffs, because that guy is a disposable feminine hygiene product.  It’s hard to imagine almost 12-15 people being involved in such an elaborate hoax, but stranger things, I guess.

Ugh...   No winners here.  Just a crap situation.

You made me snort coffee.  And yeah, I got the same reaction to the lawyer.  He reminds me of something I'd prefer to avoid stepping in.

This just has a Jack Easterby feel to it

I don’t think that’s it but could you imagine? I mean if you were right it’d be a bone-shattering scandal for the NFL.

i don’t think that’s the case tho. Watson may not be as squeaky clean as we thought.

I would say it was hard to believe but then you look into the recent past of celebs and people in power and it doesn't seem so hard to see.

How does Matt Lauer go for so many years without a single woman doing anything...

The guy had a little button under his desk to keep them from leaving his office. Yet all we got was this very nice guy who basically was the love of millions on TV.

Bill Cosby was drugging women before pudding pops were a thing.

especially as a guy that bought a “draft Johnny football” billboard in Houston previously.

he’s got a super sketchy reputation.

but doesn’t mean the claims are untrue, just because the attorney is sketchy.

i tend to skew the same direction on volume of accusations but know that it can be a dangerous assumption. I would try hard not to carry it into a jury pool but over a beer with friends it’s easy to express that the volume carries credibility
