No he isn't Ray Lewis, admittedly Devin White is better than him already. So I get it he isn't the best MLB in the league, but he is above average with room to grow. I wouldn't kick him off for a guy that has showed no desire to play ball since he got paid, the Ravens let him walk for a reason. Mosley was also constantly hurt in college as well, his run with the Ravena was the only time he didn't have constant injuries. Mosley missed 2 games in 4 years at Bama. He missed 3 games in 5 years with the ravens. He signed with the jets and was obviously cursed, got hurt in year 1. Opted out year 2. I don’t necessarily want Mosley, but talk about an exaggeration .....

Rc2catch Posted March 17, 2021 Posted March 17, 2021 We could use a player with his skill set, but not him. Jets are not going to trade with us.

This defense needs a player like Mosley, he could be the difference in making this defense formidable. What would of made this team formidable was a pass rusher havoc wreaker. Instead we opted to sign a 3rd/4th string Wr. Lol 1 1
Greg S Posted March 17, 2021 Posted March 17, 2021 The Bills have other needs than LB. This is moot anyway. No way the Jets trade him to a rival. If they did they would make the Bills pay thru the roof. Beane would probably laugh at their asking price anyway.
H2o Posted March 17, 2021 Posted March 17, 2021 No one is taking that contract and I doubt he looks to restructure himself out of $$$. It was one of the worst deals I've seen in recent years. They'd also take a $27M+ cap hit. If they are dead set on getting rid of him it will be by release.
Coach Tuesday Posted March 17, 2021 Posted March 17, 2021 Tipster you are putting the “broken clock” theory to the test… 1
Royale with Cheese Posted March 17, 2021 Posted March 17, 2021 This SOB signed the highest contract for a MLB in the history....played 2 games since the signing. That’s $42.5 million per game!
Rk_Bills86 Posted March 17, 2021 Posted March 17, 2021 I cannot imagine a world in which we would trade anything for CJ Mosely and consider it a good value. Let's look at this objectively: - what would we "trade" for him? - why would we trade for him? - is the upgrade really worth the cap hit? - considering he hasn't played in almost two years, where is here physically and mentally? - are there more pressing needs to be addressed? - if they are shopping him now, they will be shopping him later - what's the rush? - could his contract be any worse? If we want a Jet's ILB go out and get Neville Hewitt who actually played and did so at a decent enough level that he deserves middle of the road starter money somewhere (I'd gladly take him as depth on backup money here). This is not the most pressing area of need for us though and we should NOT trade for what can only be seen as a terrible contract that had unfortunate returns for the Jets due to unforeseeable circumstances. The last question is - What would you be willing to give up in this trade and how are you justifying it? 1

Yes, the Bills are going to release a two time pro-bowler and an individual they have touted as a core member of their defense. Not to mention have you looked at the cap impact of the moves you advocate?
whatdrought Posted March 17, 2021 Posted March 17, 2021 I too look at the return on investment that the Jets got on that over pay and say to myself: “how can we get a piece of that?! Sign me up!” People, by and large, are dumb. 1
SoCal Deek Posted March 17, 2021 Posted March 17, 2021 I really don’t care whether they sign Mosley but let me offer one thing here. Right now there’s a huge difference in the state of the Bills and Jets. I find it hard to believe that they care all that much about trading with the Bills. By the time the Jets would be competing on a serious level Mosley will already be gone or washed up. They have way more pressing issues right now than competing for the Division title.

Edmunds is the new whipping boy around here....when he's gone the new whipping boy will be Ed Oliver.
soflabillsfan1 Posted March 17, 2021 Posted March 17, 2021 Mosely almost single-handedly beat the Bills in the 2019 opener. He's better than Edmunds but he's not coming here. 1 1

Nor would I release Edmunds as there is no cap benefit to it. Id see about bringing in an inexpensive vet and maybe draft a guy in the second to 4th rd for competition in case edmunds doesnt improve and maybe give him some reps as an edge rusher. Edmunds was a liability last year despite his "Pro Bowl" nod. 1 1

Bobby Bonilla will get paid by the Mets until he's like 65. 1
Doc Posted March 17, 2021 Posted March 17, 2021 No one will trade for that bum. And if he gets released, I wouldn’t give him more than a close to minimum deal with lots of incentives.
