This year's Super Bowl showed how important a good OL is.

Green Bay and New Orleans both held their own and moved the ball against that TB defense, but the Chiefs couldn't score a single TD.

some crazy cap stuff going on over there?

They've already done what we should have. We have yet to narrow the gap between us imo. Restructure White, Diggs, Dawkins and cut Lee Smith, make some moves Beaner.

Apparently.  Maybe we can sneak in and win a super bowl during the one season that they get crushed by cap

It doesn’t look like it’s his MO...

I found it interesting that Daryl Williams had a $3M Roster Bonus in his 2021 deal... why not put this in the signing bonus and give yourself another $2m to spend this year...?

Seriously ... doesn’t this say that Beane is overly worried about dead cap... even for a guy like Daryl Williams who is pretty likely to at least be back in 2022

The Superbowl showed advantage of being first home team in Superbowl and having referees on your side.

The 49’ers have offered him $20M/year.

For a guy his age and with his health history, the devil will be in the details.  Very likely he’s willing to give up AAV for more guaranteed $$$$.

The cap is just a formality AS LONG AS.....

A) it keeps going up

B) your owner has no problem with doling out CASH at any given time.

There is no "crazy" to it.  You convert salary to bonus, wich is paid RIGHT NOW....and then that can be accounted for on down the line..and as long as the cap keeps growing...you don't ever care....or you pick a year like for example, when you think Mahomes will retire, and kick it all to THAT season....you eat all the dead money finally....then.  And start over.  Otherwise....the cap is just a formality.

You'll be waiting a while.  (that isn't bragging on KC...it's the fact that there is no "crushing" coming anytime soon. )

Sure, but Roaf didn’t have to beat cancer.  There’s a very real chance he wants to secure as much guaranteed money as possible.  Not all 4/$160M deals are created equal.  Meanwhile, they just lost Mitchell Schwartz who is likely to be retiring at age 31.
