He just went a bit too far. He can stand on a line with both feet and throw the ball flatfooted 70 yards downfield in the air. Even I can't do that. Noles fans think it is hilarious he was drafted and Rix wasn't. Seems like they have a sense of irony in the Saints front Office. Adrian = Saint Chris Rix = Undrafted (Maybe God took the weekend off and didn't hear Chris.)

gantrules Posted April 25, 2005 Posted April 25, 2005 I read in the paper today that his contract is going to have a gambling clause in it. The kid said he made a mistake. I hope he can make everyone pay for doubting him.

The kid had the talent to lead us to a national title, but instead we got stuck with Rix.. Chris Rix = Undrafted (Maybe God took the weekend off and didn't hear Chris.) Either that or God has learned to tune him out...
/dev/null Posted April 25, 2005 Posted April 25, 2005 i don't recall which ESPN talking head it was, but when AMP was drafted the talking head remarked that New Orleans may not be the best place for someone with his background

They not exactly high on the character meter with that team. Doesn't help their coach is not the brightest buld in the bunch either.

I just read this morning that the new Pope prayed really hard to God not to be elected but he was elected anyways. If God isn't answering the Pope's prayers, what chance does Rix have with the Big Guy in the Sky?
Stussy109 Posted April 25, 2005 Posted April 25, 2005 I guarantee you numerous players make sports wagers. Professional atheletes have the money to play with, and gambling nowadays is huge compared to in the past. For those old timers, poker has become the new past time for kids 17-25. Online sports betting is bigger than ever. When I used to be a dealer at Seneca Niagara casino, I only worked for six months, but saw several players there including our infamous #11...Mcpherson just happened to get caught.

But I think Rix knew about that stuff and the deal was to keep him a starter and he kept his mouth shut on the topic. That's behind us now.
Live&DieBillsFootball Posted April 25, 2005 Posted April 25, 2005 McPherson was the top Basketball and Football player in FL in his senior year of high school. It didn't take long for him to fug it up at FSU. The kid persevered and lit things up in the arena league. He's an incredible athlete and if he truly has matured, he could be a great pick for NO. If he can keep away from the vices, he could be the next Randall Cunngham.

Figure he can't be anymore inconsistent...but that just may be my FSU bias kicking in...
its only real shh Posted April 25, 2005 Posted April 25, 2005 he said himself gambling wasnt the issue with him (i believe him over any of u naysayers with heart on for anyone not wearin a bills jersey). the blank check he wrote and cashed was the "character issue". he wanted rims for his car is what he said, 2 days after he did it he felt guilty and he went to the coaches and told them, i think thats more responsible then gambling is irresponsible, as long as you dont bet on your own team.
CajunBillsBacker Posted April 25, 2005 Posted April 25, 2005 I think McPherson is gonna be the best QB in this class, he has all the tools, and I really believe this kid when he admits to making a mistake and regrets it after paying the consequences. I for one am glad the Saints took him because Aaron Brooks is a fuggin b!tch. I can't wait till he's run out of town, i'm tired of seeing his overpaid arrogant ass on my TV.

bartshan-83 Posted April 25, 2005 Posted April 25, 2005 I'll say one thing for him, 3 years ago when ND was kicking the sh-- out of FSU in Tallahassee, McPherson came in with like 5 minutes left and marched the team down the field TWICE for 2 TDs. Yeah our defense had backed off somewhat, but it was impressive. Made the game a lot closer than it should have been. I remember thanking Bowden for leaving Rix in for the first 55 minutes....
