The Bills were NFL worse at covering TEs last season. What are they going to do knowing they have to cover at least 2 verse the pats next year.

Having Edmunds and Milano healthy should help.

The Bills held tight ends to the third fewest receiving yards in 2019, when both players were healthy all year.

With our present D we will get pushed down the field regularly and hope they make a mistake in their 12 -15 play drives so we hold them to FGs.  Then hope Josh can bail us out.

If only we had some recent game tape to watch to see how a Bills defense could effectively deal with an offense using heavy 12 personnel and a mobile QB in a predominately run-based attack...

With Cam under center it won't matter, he doesn't have e the deep ball anymore.

If they get a better QB? Yeah I would say it's an issue.

They have set their team up like an old school BB team. Good defense and short yardage players set up for a game manager QB.

Which was really disheartening because Kelce isn’t a very good tight end.

I know right?  His stats in 2020 were pretty pathetic:

Only 105 receptions for 1416 yards with a measly 13.5 yards per catch and a mere 11 touchdowns?  Why couldn't the Bills D handle him?

It didn't really work well against any TE.... even down the stretch. The Colts TEs exposed them too in the playoffs.

Like I previously said: in 2019, the Bills were incredibly effective at limiting TEs. Last year, they weren’t. There’s no reason to believe that with a full offseason and better health (and personnel additions yet to be added), they can’t regain their 2019 form . Our coaches aren’t dummies and our LBs and safeties aren’t scrubs.

Omg is this really worth a new thread during the start of free agency??
I swear Bill lives inside some of y’all’s heads. The trauma of getting whipped on for 20 years has done some serious damage around here.

The Bills dont have to cover tight ends, they only have to score more points.   The Patriots are building a team that will be run centered to try and play ball control offense.   Essentially play good defense, and keep scores close.   They will need to do that with no Quarterback.

because we didn't bump him after he got off the line. Just ask Tony Romo.

They did the same thing with Brady, just keep the game within one score and count on Tom winning it in the end with a FG or TD drive.

Yeah we are done.  W are a 5-11 team right now.
A Head Coach who doesn’t know defense.

Terrible defensive line.

Terrible linebackers who can’t cover or get off blocks.

No running game because our best RB is at best an UDFA level.

Both below the average guards as starters.

What else am I missing Scott?

We didn’t sign a young edge rusher the first day!!!!!

Only one ball to go around and lots of decision to make as a QB. Which read is right?  Brady is on Tampa...... let's see if NE can recreate prior success without the most crucial piece to the puzzle. IMO nope!
