That would be dumb after he publicly stated he wants to stay.

Yes, the most important criteria in evaluating whether to keep players is if they "want" to stay.

Disclaimer: I really hope they keep Feliciano

Depending on the offers Williams gets it may or may not have made a difference anyway the bills might have signed who they could actually sign for the money they want to pay maybe Williams offers are ridiculous We don’t know yet we will find out soon

Dude your right,  i said 7-8 mllion tops for Milano and after he and his agent seen the mass flooding of players being released he comes back for 11mllion.  Too much for a average LB,  has be been to the pro bowl yet?  Worse in the NFL at covering TE'S

The Chiefs aren't going to be the same. They won't be as deep. Their roster is weakening.

And Mahomes deal doesn’t jump to $40M until 2023.

Not according to this thread... seems like I’m crazy but I’m honestly shocked some have the stance they do

seems obvious to me that protecting Allen should be priority one and improving the pass rush should be number 2

but I guess some would rather gambles Allen’s health and the offense and keep Milano

I’ve been pretty consistent

priorities this off-season:

protect the franchise (Williams)

rush the passer (proven DE)

again this isn’t hard

It’s apparently really hard because you’re catching flack left and right...

You have NOT been consistent. Your #1 priority is protecting the franchise... fine... but then you tell me the whole off-season is about catching the Chiefs and how bad our defense was... newsflash protecting our QB with a $10M contract for a RT isn’t fixing our defense... and it’s going to have the same effect on signing a pass rusher while also creating another hole on defense...

We’re also not releasing our RT... he’s a free agent... there’s a difference.

You don't understand. The current team couldn't beat the Chiefs twice! So you need to get rid of everyone on the team and replace them with other people who may or may not be as good!

Let's wait for things to play out.

As for the Chiefs currently they are down their tackles and starting center.

Great let’s release our pro bowl RT and trust a rookie there

but make sure we keep Milano, he is much more valuable lol

really good stuff here

You are the one who wants to close the gap with the Chiefs.....Williams was horrible in that game.....and as much as he was solid....some great coach said “Give me a team of guys on the last year of their contract...I’ll win the championship”....my fear with Williams is he is a big contract from mediocrity.....Signing him likely likely much more costly than Milano and would have blocked out even more cap....

I am pretty sure I will go with GM of the year✌️

Trust me on this one,  too much and we could have upgraded the position with a couple million more.  Milano would have not received an offer close to this on open market with the flood of players being released and low cap number of 183mll.  I will be right again,  just like when i said we should have drafted Metcalf or signing Murphy would be a total bust or our defense was not good enough to make to to the SUPER BOWL.  End of the day we still don't have anyone to cover Kelce or other TE'S in this league which we were worse in the NFL at doing,  paying Milano more is not changing the result of that. Right now we have one big play maker on defense and that is White,  we needed to add at least one of two this offseason and that does not look like it will happen.

13-3 regular season record, division champs, One game from the super bowl, and some fans  think Beane doesn’t know what he is doing, pretty amazing don’t you think...

Go Bills!!!

Awesome, awesome news! Draft well, develop, and reward your own. Milano is an excellent scheme fit and I would’ve hated seeing him shake his injury bug and become a stud elsewhere. He changes this defense when he’s healthy and running sideline to sideline.

I expect them to grab at least two young pass rushers in the draft this year (if they don’t sign a pass rusher in FA).

Defense had little to do with that,  if i recall Kelce and Mahomes played catch with Milano in the middle.  Sean said they needed to improve their pass rush,  not sure how this would help

Man. I went out for a couple hours and came back to this awesome news, not to mention a 17-page thread discussing it!

I probably can't say much that hasn't already been said, but...

I, too, figured he was a goner. The fact that he likely took less money to stay in Buffalo because he likes the culture and because he recognizes that the Bills are knocking on the doorstep of the Super Bowl is absolutely amazing.

For all those who still say culture is overblown -- and I saw a few on this forum just today saying it -- here's another piece of evidence that you're wrong. Build a good program, build a consistent and successful program, and watch players take less money to be a part of it. Culture is real.

So glad Milano is back. One less hole to fill this offseason. Go Beane!

Pleasant surprise. $11 mil is a big chunk of cap but we have some contracts expiring after this year.

Now we don’t need to use a high draft pick on lb.

I don’t believe his cap number has been announced, but it won’t be $11 million. They will give a bonus of $10-15 milliiin and back loads salaries. I’d guess his cap number for next year will come in at about $7 million.

Wow man ok let’s try again

priority is to win the super bowl, To do so we need to overtake the chiefs... I thought this was a known but I’ll make sure I clearly articulate this

To do this we need to keep the franchise healthy and rolling so why we wouldn’t prioritize keeping the RT who kept Allen upright seems weird to me, if his price has gone way up then okay I can be convinced we had to let him go but I don’t like the notion that we will just draft one and that it will all just be okay

2. Our defense struggled to get to the passer last year consistently, this defense got shredded in 2 of the 3 playoff games with Milano in the lineup so I’m not convinced at all resigning him for 11M properly addresses the defense and helps us achieve any of the goals I just mentioned with a down cap year

IF milano’s contract prevents us from getting Williams or an elite pass rusher I think it was a bad decision

is that not crystal clear

They're already feeling it. $20 million jump this year. Bills will feel that next year but at least the cap will jump $20 million with Allen's cap increases.

I like keeping Milano around. Just hope this doesn't prevent them from signing a stud pass rusher....

Given they went after Watt aggressively, I think it's pretty clear they want to upgrade.  It will be interesting to see what they do with Addison?  Keep around until they have someone, or jettison him first?
