Biden's vaccine mandate for federal workers blocked by appeals court

by Paul Best

President Biden's mandate that about 3.5 million federal employees get vaccinated against COVID-19 was blocked by the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals on Thursday. The president originally issued the executive order in September 2021, requiring workers to be vaccinated unless they have a medical or religious exemption. U.S. District Judge Jeffrey Brown issued an injunction blocking the mandate in January 2022, but a three-judge panel on the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals reinstated the mandate last April.

On Thursday, 10 of the 5th Circuit's 16 judges reversed that decision, ruling that there is no constitutional basis for requiring federal employees to be vaccinated.

My work just reported out that they have completed the goal of removing the sex and race-based pay gaps. I would love to know how they did it and how they can prove it. as this company has a very wide range or rolls.

I find your employers statement interesting as through deductive reasoning Isn't announcing "removing the sex and race-based pay gaps" an admission that they've eliminated previous discrimination practices which employers have generally denied existed?  As they all attest to following EEO every year.

I think by far and away the biggest discrimination is against older workers.  While they have more experience they also generally have families and dependents that consume a lot more health care services than younger unmarried workers that as a group are the healthiest demographic.  In conversation with a professional resume writer, I was told that listing any job experience or dates prior to the year 2000 would result in your resume being eliminated from consideration by companies using parsing software to screen applicants resumes.  This I was told is about 95% of HR departments.

Agree totally on the first part and that's the common theme going around the water cooler since it was published.   Did they exist secretly?  and seems similar programs would have to be created to Fix said problems.

Even CNN Is Admitting Joe Biden's Numbers Are in Big Trouble Now

Joe Biden has been a horrible president.

Even now, with the Afghanistan report just dropping, and his administration coming under fire for all their failures, where is he? Out the door again, off early on a Thursday, so he can go to Camp David on yet another vacation for the Easter weekend.

We’re still some time away from 2024. But Biden can’t hide from the facts that even many Democrats don’t want him to run again.

Now, CNN has just dropped a new poll that even they think may spell doom for Biden.

CNN POLL: Less than one third of Americans say Biden deserves to be reelected.

“The numbers are beyond sobering for President Biden.” John King acknowledged. The poll shows that most people “have deep doubts” about Biden’s performance, and about the direction of the country right now. He noted it was still a long way to the election, but admitted, “They are still quite telling” about the mood of the people, “and the challenges facing the 80-year-old incumbent.”
