FTA:

“Joe Biden — once a fraud, always a fraud.” In it, he wrote: “His chameleon lack of principle was glaring during the election, in which he won the primary in the guise of a centrist to defeat his extremist rivals, then executed a violent handbrake turn and hurtled back leftward.”

Our grader Jed Babbin cited several reasons why this week was worthy of a D+, including whiffing on the border crisis.

Jed Babbin
Grade: D+

Biden had an interesting week that had its ups and downs. He announced we’d withdraw from Afghanistan by the 20th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, sanctioned Russia, and he’s trying to redefine “bipartisanship” to exclude Republicans.

It is, as Biden said, time for us to withdraw our remaining troops from Afghanistan. And it’s also time to plan for the foreseeable effect of that withdrawal, which Biden isn’t doing. We know that the Taliban will quickly topple the Kabul regime and restore itself to power. Afghanistan will, again, be a safe haven for terrorists, and Biden has no plan to even come up with a plan to deal with it.

Vice President Kamala Harris is still missing in action on the border crisis. She apparently plans to visit Mexico and Guatemala to offer subsidies to would-be illegal immigrants to stay home rather than come here. Those subsidies will probably be just enough for the migrants to pay the coyotes who will smuggle them into the United States. The subsidies are an amazingly stupid idea.

Biden is now pushing another $2.3 trillion in federal spending for “infrastructure,” a term that is subject to varying definitions. And so, according to Old Joe, is “bipartisanship,” which has always meant that a piece of legislation had the support of both Republicans and Democrats. Biden’s new definition excludes congressional Republicans and somehow includes undefinable Republican support outside the Beltway.

Sorry, Joe, that doesn’t pass the giggle test.

Democrats have introduced a bill to pack the Supreme Court without giving Biden’s “blue ribbon” commission time to examine the issue. Biden will endorse court-packing as soon as his panel, which is stuffed with court-packers, approves it.

Biden has spoken to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky (and won’t be impeached for it), offering only words in support of a nation that is literally besieged by Russia. Biden also wants to have a summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin. In the midst of this, Biden created a new round of sanctions against Russia for the 2020 SolarWinds cyberattack. The sanctions include the usual sending home of a few diplomats and, interestingly, a bar of U.S. banks to trade in new Russian state debt and bonds. That can be a significant hit to Russia’s ability to sell bonds, but it will not be enough to damage its economy.

Biden first ordered two U.S. Navy destroyers to cruise the Black Sea in support of Ukrainian independence and then canceled the order after Putin closed the Kerch Strait, which is one of Ukraine’s outlets to the Black Sea. And now, Iran is enriching uranium to 60%. (Weapons grade, about 90%, is a relatively short jump from there.) Biden-style diplomacy is not impressing any of our adversaries.

Well to be fair.  I turned 60 last week and I'm a boy to Joe.  I toddler to be exact.

Author of ’94 crime bill says we must confront head-on racial disparities in the justice system

joe-biden-chauvin-verdict.jpg

President Biden and Vice President Harris spoke Tuesday evening following the Derek Chauvin verdict, and we have to give Biden credit for throwing so many of his supporters under the bus:

But then, he started on systemic racism.

Biden Administration pulls back lands from Alaska Native American Vietnam vets, and Statehood Act entitlement lands.

In the sweeping oil-and-gas moratorium order by President Joe Biden last week, Alaska Native Vietnam War veterans and their heirs got the shaft.

After 50 years of trying to get the Native land allotment they are owed, those selections have now been put on ice.

During the Vietnam War, hundreds of Alaska Native men went to fight overseas in Vietnam. They missed out on being able to select up to 160 acres of land before the Alaska Native Allotment Act of 1906 was repealed in 1971 with the advent of the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act.

For years, the Alaska delegation in DC has fought to restore that right to acquire their lands, robbed from them under an unjust oversight. But with the stroke of a pen last week, President Biden has once again pulled that land back to federal control.

Biden also put a hold on the transfer of land to the State of Alaska — land that was promised as part of the Alaska Statehood Act.

Former Sec. David Berhardt, as one of his final acts in the Trump Administration, signed four public land order revocations to allow these land transfers to go forward.

The new administration is putting them on ice.

I don’t usually do anything for 4th of July but this year I’m getting alcohol poisoning and launching more ordinance than a Arleigh-Burke class destroyer
