@muppy  Low taxes...low inflation...free speech...low gas & energy prices...avoid conflict and war where possible...low crime rates..common sense control of the border (with a healthy immigration policy as well) and energy independence.

These people are referred to as cultists today.  Interestingly, more than a few of the people I know are liberal and want these things too.

common sense  and shared human values should not be politically dependent . All the ugly rhetoric and fighting solves nothing. that is what frustrates me most about politics.

Too much RED and BLUE not enough purple.

what you are selling smells like a pipe dream Leo. Honestly. With the divide as wide as it is HOW are we ever going to accomplish such lofty goals. Donald Trump at the helm??

I'm not selling anything Mup, I'm addressing comments you made to me.

Follow your instincts.  Consider the impact on divide, rhetoric and fighting as it relates to suggesting religious fervor and worship is the reason people vote for anyone.  Consider the impact of you voting for who you vote for, and their harsh words and rhetoric as well.

Most people get along just fine in the world.  It does strike me as odd that when Trump won, handily, fairly and decisively...his political enemies attacked, and many/most of their supporters seemed to embrace divisive behavior and nasty rhetoric.  You (the big picture you, not the you you) can't just want unity when your guy runs the show, it doesn't work like that.

President Biden landed in France and almost immediately called a lid for press coverage for the day. It is unclear why he did that.

Biden arrived in France early Wednesday morning time in America. Perhaps he needed a nap.

This isn't just a trip commemorating brave young service members who fought for freedom during WWII. That is all it should be. It is enough. But, no. Joe Biden will turn this trip into a campaign event. He is both desperate and shameless. That is a dangerous combination for a politician clinging to power, hoping to win re-election.

Joe Biden promised to have the most transparent administration ever. That turned out to be a bogus promise. His is a very secretive administration and very unfriendly to the press. We can recognize that Trump was highly critical of the press but he spoke with them daily, if his schedule allowed. He stood and answered questions at every opportunity. That is not how Joe Biden governs in the White House. He avoids the press.

We've seen how Biden is approaching his re-election campaign. He holds very small events in battleground states. The press is kept as far back as possible. He usually does not take questions. Most of his events are held in Pennsylvania because it is near Delaware and an easy trip from Washington, D.C. Biden has to win Pennsylvania in November to win re-election.

{snip}

The grand finale, though, is a speech scheduled on Friday about  "the importance of defending freedom and democracy" at Pointe du Hoc, a promontory that overlooks Omaha Beach, the site taken by U.S. Rangers on D-Day. Biden's intended audience is American voters back home.

There is no doubt in my mind that Biden will use his speech on Friday to talk about the threat to democracy another term for Trump will present. This is a key Democrat talking point in the election. They have little else to run on so they have to scare voters.

The irony is that Team Biden is doing what they accuse Trump of wanting to do - destroy democracy, aka, America as we know it. Biden has introduced lawfare into the presidential campaign to keep Trump out of the White House. That can never be forgiven. Biden and his fellow travelers are the true threat to our way of life.

 Biden’s Visit to Normandy Was the Awkward Mess We All Predicted It Would Be.

c8c52010-a869-46b7-94b3-5f7859089d42-105

Joe Biden was in Normandy on Thursday morning to recognize the 80th anniversary of D-Day, and if there's anything you can take away from his performance on the world stage, it's that his performance on the debate stage later this month is going to be a disaster — if it even happens. I'm still skeptical.

Democrats have long tried to counter the narrative that Biden isn't mentally fit to be president, citing his State of the Union address as proof. However, there are suspicions that Biden was drugged for that address earlier this year. It's almost unfortunate that he didn't receive another dose before embarrassing the United States in France.

The videos of Biden in France Thursday morning are almost difficult to watch.

First, watch the classic Biden shuffle up to the stage, where he's not appearing entirely there.

{snip}

Does anyone think that Biden can handle debating Trump?

Does anyone think Biden will ultimately appear on the debate stage?

He can't even handle reading a speech off of a teleprompter without embarrassing himself.

They’re using ChatGPT for his speeches now.

You guys obviously don't even bother to read each other's posts.

So what is the point of reposting the same Twitter monkey's take multiple times from multiple people in multiple threads?

It's some kind of weird performative Trumpism I guess.

Second time I've pointed this out in the last two days, and that's just based on a quick skim of all the duplicative topics.
