So sad to hear about Walter's passing. He was a kind and caring man and a legend.

I had the privilege of interviewing him many times throughout high school and college.

The highlight for me was spending a weekend with him at one of his golf tournaments for a documentary I was doing on him. He spent the weekend telling jokes and stories that I will never forget.

I will never forget when he invited me as a 12 year old boy to "the basement" and let me put on Wayne's jerseys, pants, and gloves and then sent me home with an arm full of memorabilia.

He was truly a class act and in a league of his own.

You will be sorely missed Walter but you are home with Phyllis now.

RIP Wally

I had the privilege of meeting him many times when he stayed at the hotel that I am the tourism director of. He was always very gregarious and loved to meet people and tell stories. Had a smile that went from one ear to the other.

Rest in peace Mr. Gretzky.
