Doesn't that type of behavior generally escalate or is there a solid chance he is able to work past it? Also, how many grams of crack equal 14 years exactly? Don't know, but at least until recently it was exactly 100 times less than the same number of years for cocaine. Think we might have some of our priorities mixed up somehow...and I'm usually very much on the rehabilitate over incarcerate side, but dude is attacking weak old ladies and raping them...aside from feeling the need for control over someone to that extent, that he is either not able to stop the drive to do that, or does not have the empathy to not do that is really scary because I have to imagine that type of stuff escalates over time. 2

You may be thinking of one of the NFL's other top rapists: Darren Sharper. He was sentenced to 20 years.

It amazes me how we lock addicts up and basically turn a relative blind eye to sexual predators (Pedophiles included). They always get a super light sentence like all they did was knock over a 7/11 with a gun. The victims are stuck with distrust and fear for life, and I'm not a "oh my feelings" guy but that is a big ordeal. 2 1

As a person who deals specifically with the investigation and prosecution of these crimes I can tell you that many, MANY victims just can't handle the court room, leading to plea bargains with lighter sentences. When cases like these go to trial and the defendant is found guilty, my experience is the judge usually drops the hammer. 2 1

There are a lot of examples of punishments not seeming fair in our justice system......I watch a doc about a guy who went around the country to various casinos. He would recruit a blackjack dealer and collude to fix the game in his favor. All told it was over a million bucks, he got a year. Go rob a bank where you will be lucky to get a few grand you could get a 20 year sentence.
