This is funny how it does bring out hypocrisy. Remember in Kavanaugh, the right was like let it be, it’s old allegations. We believe him. This is a non-story. Now they jump all over Cuomo to resign.

Its not new. The same thing happened with Democrat Senator Franken. The Dems did put pressure on him to resign and he did.

We’re already seeing Dems call for investigation. AOC being the most prominent one. That is what should happen. I don’t think you’d find any Dem say otherwise.

It would be interesting if the Republicans took a consistent approach with this and applied their Kavanaugh standard to Cuomo but we know that will not happen.

Frankly I don't recall some big movement on "the right" to bury the allegations made against Kavanuaugh by Ford.  I believe the push back was generated from the left and their lapdogs in the press declaring a guilty verdict without due process, without hearing witnesses, without having yet held any hearings.  And calls for the President to withdrawal the nomination or for the judge to withdraw himself immediately when the allegation surfaced.

I suspect the MSM will dare not pre-judge Cuomo to be guilty starting with tomorrow's stories and things like "The View" talk show (if they even mention it).  And it would surprise me if there is any mass movement out of the left for him to immediately resign.  One thing seems clear the story can no longer be pushed to back page like it was most of last week.

At the confirmation hearings Dr. Ford was given the opportunity to tell her story of alleged sexual misconduct in the case of the Kavanaugh.  But her testimony and recollection of events was contradicted by all other witnesses providing statements that she identified as present at the time she stated the assault took place.  None of them recalled any such get-together even occurring.  Even her "best friend" at the time did not collaborate her story.  And she could not identify the location of the "party" which I found strange since logically you'd expect it would be at a home of one of the individuals she indicated was present.

It seems like the women accusing Cuomo of misconduct will also be given the chance to tell their story.  This is the right thing to do.  I don't see any political problem here.  Its a case of alleged misconduct by a State governor and these women should be given a fair chance to tell their story without fear of consequences.  Most likely some anonymous fringe alt-left terrorists will threaten them in some way.  What I love most about these cowards is how their self-professed moral superiority is contingent on how well being moral needs to conveniently align with their agenda for it to be expressed.

This is silly.

The original allegation against Cuomo came nearly 3 years ago and was largely ignored by the administration and the media.  They were certainly ignored by major dem players.

The most recent accuser has stated that she complained to the appropriate parties within the government and was transferred/reassigned.  That took place in the spring of 2020.   That, too seems to have been of little interest to the media and other members of NYS government.

Contrast that with an allegation lacking details and specifics, out of the blue as a well-known and respected jurist was about to be confirmed to the highest court in the land.  The treatment in that case involved the character assassination of a man with the sole purpose being to destroy him and to send a message to anyone else who might come after.

The reward for the chief inquisitor in the treatment of Brett Kavanaugh was the Vice Presidency.

Interestingly, the chief inquisitor of Kavanaugh also believed the individual who accused her future boss of a violent sexual assault.  She supported him for president in spite of her stated belief, as did many other dem leaders.

By the way—whats the deal with the law and order Dems in NY?  Cuomo is the 3rd AG/former AG out of 3 to end up in hot water.  Spitzer trafficks in prostitution and walks free, Schneiderman gets heavy handed with the ladies and reportedly has a cocaine problem, nothing comes up it.  Now Cuomo during the height of #metoo is accused of sexual predation.  You’d think after dodging the corruption bullet with SUNY Poly and his right hand man, he’d lay low.

What's the word for when you say something is wrong(Kavanaugh), then post the EXACT same thing(Cuomo).  I think it's HYPOCRISY????????

That resembles our gov't saying their going to be transparent then pushing bills through that no one in congress gets to read and the people know nothing about or being able to keep your Dr. then not being able to keep your Dr. in reality or saying you denounce terrorism then giving a terrorist pallets of money ?

Or telling every one stye need to wear a mask to stop the spread of the virus then going out to get your hair done with no mask and saying that you have been set up ?

Is that the same kind of hypocrisy you mean ? Just asking .

The Republican hypocrisy part isn't really applicable here.  Remember, Senator Feinstein knew about Blasey-Ford for a long time and didn't think much of it until Kavanaugh was set to be confirmed.  There was no investigation into the allegation while Feinstein sat on the claim.  It was a circus because of the 11:59 timing of the release of information, and it seemed completely unnecessary at the time.  Problem is that now all the "believe her" politicians are stuck with this position, or else they're going to look like the hypocrites.  In this case, the first allegation was made in December, and now there's another one -- and it appears that there are bipartisan calls for Cuomo to resign.  And those calls for his resignation are all premature.  So whereas Republicans were saying "prove it" then they should rightly be saying "prove it" now.  The loudest calls for Cuomo to resign seem to be coming from Democrats.  Both sides seem to be consistent here:  "prove it" vs. "believe her (without more)".

You're right that the Dems are piling on, especially the progressive Dems.  This looks a lot like an internal party power struggle.  I said it before, the sexual abuse allegations are more headline-worthy, but Cuomo's handling of the federal investigation into nursing homes is a bigger deal and easier to prove.  Why aren't the Democrats hammering this angle?  Looks like a smear job that's politically motivated.  They want him to go away, not go to jail. And NYS Republicans should be careful what they wish for.

Without any real evidence all he really has to do is deny, deny, deny and he'll be fine as we've found out numerous times over the years.  Just call it a political hit job.

Except there were people who also verified incidents of Kavanaugh sexually assaulting women:

https://www.latimes.com/politics/story/2019-09-16/fbi-investigation-brett-kavanaugh-confirmation

One of the accounts, reported by Deborah Ramirez, was made public at the time of Kavanaugh’s confirmation hearings. The other, not publicly known until this weekend, was reported by a male classmate who said he witnessed the incident. He unsuccessfully sought to get the FBI to investigate with help from a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee who asked FBI Director Christopher A. Wray to look into the allegation.

Ramirez alleged that Kavanaugh exposed his penis and caused her to touch it while they were both inebriated during a drinking game in a dormitory suite in late 1983 or early 1984. Kavanaugh denied her allegation.

The other allegation, previously unreported, came from Washington lawyer Max Stier, who told Sen. Chris ***** (D-Del.) that he witnessed Kavanaugh exposing himself to a different female classmate during their freshman year.

There were several moves. Republicans didn’t want to investigate at all until their was political pressure. Once there was enough political pressure, a handful of Republican senators that needed cover like Collins, requested Trump open an FBI investigation.

Then the investigation was limited and needed to be concluded in a week.

Should we have the same thing apply here? How would Republicans feel if Democrats said yes let’s investigate but it’s a limited investigation into Cuomo and can only last 1 week?

These allegations follow the Ballsy Ford model.  “Sometime, somewhere nearly 40 years ago...”.

It’s impossible for anyone to know the true nature of the allegation—truth, lie, mental illness, celebrity, money, derail a SC justice with an impeccable reputation who will surely be confirmed absent a last minute Hail Mary and a hostile populace looking to destroy the white male conservative.

Here’s a clip from a pro-Ramirez article in the New Yorker:

Though Ramirez admits that her memory of the incident is fuzzy, she says she can “still see [Kavanaugh’s] face, and his hips coming forward, like when you pull up your pants,” she said. Ramirez also told The New Yorker that after the alleged incident, a male student “yelled down the hall, ‘Brett Kavanaugh just put his penis in Debbie’s face.’” (While The New Yorker did not confirm that Kavanaugh was at the party, and some of Ramirez’s former classmates disputed her allegation, one former classmate said that he’s “one-hundred-per-cent sure” that another former classmate at the time told him that Kavanaugh exposed himself to Ramirez.)

For that matter, how did Ramirez?

As a republican, I wouldn’t wish the Kavanaugh debacle on anyone, including Cuomo. It’s a stain on whatever semblance of pride we might have left in our political system.

You can find any whack job to make a claim from decades ago.  The problem for Cuomo is this was within the past few years and the Dems have boxed themselves into a corner with the #believeher rhetoric.

"I do not understand why the loutish, drunken behavior of a 17 year old high school boy has anything to tell us about the character of a 53 year old judge," The American Conservative editor Rod Dreher tweeted.

Fox News commentator Stephen Miller likened the allegations to "drunk teenagers playing seven minutes of heaven."

Agreed.  While I personally think Ford was a political opportunist of the highest order- attempting to derail a nominee and making a small fortune in the process, I’d even go so far as to say “Who knows?”.

Kavanaugh could be a serial killer with bodies in the basement for all I know.  The likelihood is quite small, and given the accusations levied and the manner in which they came, it seems highly unlikely.  Given the abhorrent behavior of the dem Senators leading the inquisition through innuendo and stupidity, it seems even more remote.  Finally, the March to disembowel Kavanaugh dropped off the face of the earth literally after he was confirmed.

As for Cuomo, his simple out is to take the polygraph test he lobbied for Kavanaugh to submit to.  Hell, he could do it at the next Emmy awards while collecting his trophy for destroying the lives of NY families.  He would be in front of a friendly crowd.

Totally how this would be portrayed against President DeSantis

I see that Governor Cuomo has acknowledged making people uncomfortable, that he spends time at work and these are his personal friends.  He also acknowledged they may have misunderstood his intent, the strip poker thing, the he is open to relationships with 25 year olds thing, the touching, making girls feel he wants to sleep with them and he feels badly about that.

So, he has taken ownership as they say, and that’s about it.  It worked for Biden—he may well be the next nominee for the Dems.

He already has an Emmy.  Now let's see what award he gets for this latest acting job.

It's hit the fan now for Cuomo...

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi called Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s (D-NY) sexual allegations “credible,” breaking her silence Sunday just 24-hours after a second woman came forward with fresh claims.

Third Woman Accuses Andrew Cuomo of Harassment.

You know B, on the one hand I feel sorry for this young lady if what she says is true.

On the other...Cuomo has been governor for 10 years.  His right hand man, Joe Percoco gets sent away for 6 years in a corruption scandal involving the SUNY Poly campus in Albany.  The news coverage on Cuomo and the scandal dropped like a stone when Percoco went away— no real follow up, no real inv into Cuomo.

To boot, the initial allegations against Cuomo came nearly three years ago.  He’s clearly an aggressive human being, whether that rises to bullying or whatever is not the issue.

Cuomo is gov, was AG.  His replacement was Eric Schneiderman- a guy forced out due to heavy hands with the woman in his life, and as reported locally by a staff writer on the Albany Times Union— allegedly a fairly regular cocaine user while in office.

Before Cuomo and Schneiderman was Spitzer as AG and Governor.  We know the story on him— illegal activity, call girls, trafficking etc...gets off    Scott free.

The media company in this case stayed silent, it would seem, and allowed and enabled this behavior.  We know it’s not a question of fear of reprisal—they all rode hard on Trump.  So, 10 years of corruption and scandal and not a peep out of them.

What was in it for them?  That’s the story here.
