And you know this ... how? What happens if they breach that door? Are they going to politely request that he step aside and allow them to proceed to the Speaker of the House?

And he knew this ... how? He knew what was in her backpack? You know, the one she didn't send through security like she was supposed to?

And why limit it to whether he was under immediate, personal danger. His job is to protect the Capitol and our representatives/staff lawfully conducting business inside of it.

In fact, in hindsight (since you seem to want to play that game) it looks like she - even if not personally armed - was part of a group planning to overthrow the election by any means necessary:

the day before the assault on the Capitol, Babbitt retweeted:

"Nothing can stop us....they can try and try but the storm is here and it is descending upon DC in less than 24 hours....dark to light...."

All that moronic QAnon crap - crap that didn't exactly preach all sweetness and light when it comes to how those devilish child-eaters like Pelosi were supposed to be dealt with.

He did the right thing under the circumstances.

There's a lot of this "whataboutism" in this thread and in society in general - an attempt to change the topic because these January 6 attackers were absolutely as "low class" (Trump's words) and violent as advertised. I am the recipient of the stock response, "yeah, well then why do you have a problem with the cop shooting Jacob Blake?"

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shooting_of_Jacob_Blake

I'm consistent here. That was a justified shooting too.

Are you guys consistent?

Ha! Nice try. They did breach the door!! They did get into the house chamber. And ….nothing happened!

Dems should keep pushing this.   Nobody cares, but eventually more will, but not in the way they hope…  Regular everyday people, once they start to view more tape and see what truly happened that day will start to wonder why those involved are being locked up for years and charged with “sedition”.

This won’t end well for the tyrants exploiting 1/6 for political power.

Oh, they'll keep pushing this.  Because they have nothing else.  No other conspiracies to sell and no more blaming Trump for the Fauci-Wuhan pandemic/deaths.  Many of those who went with their feelz because of those things (like my boss) are starting to wake up to the fact that those were lies, that Joey looks feeble and inept, and to the sad state of affairs since he took over.

As this isn't a case of a police officer alone on patrol confronting a dangerous suspect the question is why did this particular officer open fire while the others did not?  After all, if the threat was extreme why didn't they all open fire?

Exactly

The legal term is Standard of Care and goes to the concept of what would another professional officer have done if faced with the same circumstances …but in this case we know what dozens of other officers did in the exact same situation. They did NOT shoot anyone. This officer definitely did not meet the Standard of Care.
Period!

On the flip side, their "well, he didn't know what she was going to do" excuse unwittingly absolves every case of a cop shooting an unarmed POC who committed a crime and resisted arrest/orders to stand down.  Ah, but I can hear it now: "those were different..."

LOL! The Commies finally heard everyone asking all year "where are the sedition charges?" so they finally invented some.  Good luck with that holding up in court.

Posted

So if Trump is installed as President despite losing the EC and popular vote, we'll have Civil War?  LOL!  Do Commies spend a lot of time making up scenarios just to get themselves worked up?

No, what will lead to Civil War is if the idiot Commie leaders and their mouthpieces the MSM keep stoking racial tensions that aren't there (or at least nearly as much as before) and keep promoting policing reductions and not prosecuting criminals.

So, the Left has finally given up on insurrection.

How many times in this thread alone have the parrots kept claiming insurrection ?

We just had a national holiday about it for God's sake.

and NOW, they are pretending that it was sedition all along, and thinking no one will notice.

Someone still isn't reading past the headlines.

Not Insurrection

Interestingly, the DOJ announcement describes the charges with reference to the statute’s inclusion of efforts to oppose or delay execution of a law, not its reference “to conspire to overthrow, put down, or to destroy by force the Government of the United States, or to levy war against them

https://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/18/2384

…” But watch, the MSM and the Schumer/Pelosi crowd will frame it rhetorically as if the defendants are being charged with conspiracy to overthrow the government.

I also like the part in the CNN article that the Oathkeepers were acting because President Trump wasn't.......LOL!

“The best is yet to come!”

Shocking stuff there!  The President's legal team was in direct contact with the President.  No!  Really?  Now they've got him.

I assume you're referring to the Bills game.  There's entire different side of the Message Board for that.

But for some reason this insurrectionist has not been arrested.  And had his name and picture removed from the FBI most-wanted list a day after his actions were exposed in the press.  However the people that listened to his urging to enter the Capitol were arrested to rot in solitary confinement.  He's a government informant/asset inciting others to commit violence they would not have otherwise committed.  The basic definition of a set up.  But for some reason the government won't come clean here.  Which makes it impossible to believe anything this administration or the committee have to say about 1/6.  Liars got to lie.
