You're a very passionate, but niave man. I look at in the inverse. The point is not to stop businesses from outsourcing their jobs. The point is for government to make domestic conditions more enticing for them to want to keep their production here in the first place. If after doing that, a company still wants to relocate operations, they are free to do so. And when/if they do, then government again steps in to make sure that company is not taking advantage of government created loop-holes to the benefit of the executives, etc. Edited March 3, 2021 by SoCal Deek

They basically hold them hostage until they get a deal where taxpayers subsidize their business. If anybody thinks there is an easy solution, or this problem is being caused by "weak minded whiners" , then they need their head examined.

With that said, how is this a 'problem'? Companies deal with all sorts of costs to bring their goods and services to market. Some, but not all of those are the cost of labor, real estate, materials, and tax policy. At the same time there are costs to relocation. It's a series of checks and balances. It's not supposed to be simple, nor is it one size fits all. Companies are run by individuals, and they are in a state of constant evolution and competition with rival companies, both domestic and international. It cannot, and should not, be controlled from one central place or organization.

I can stop my company from outsourcing my job by delivering results ... until I can’t ... then I will have to find a new job, even if I need to move to where I can find one. That’s how life actually works. The world doesn’t owe you a favor and free ride just for existing. Naive is sitting in your parents basement waiting for the government to save you. And ironically that was your orange fantasies platform to throw up trade barriers to protect steel and other industries. I guess your a closet fanboy insurrectionist eh? outsourcing is hardly new. And if you know anything about how modern manufacturing is done, it doesn't mean that the entire product's supply chain is made in America. Many products would be (and are) assembled here, with parts and materials made elsewhere. This has been true from some time now, and the reverse is also true. Sometimes we make the material and ship it elsewhere to be assembled. 1

Just need to interrupt this helpless whine to announce Samsung (a Korean company) announced they are dropping 18 billion on a chip MANUFACTURING fab in the United States, most likely Texas. Maybe government does help a little after all. How does Texas fit your narrative? grow up kid. Time to take a little ownership in your own destiny. It’s funny, the Uber religious right believe god determines their destiny... the Uber liberal left believes government determines their destiny. And there’s another group that believes they determine their own destiny. I don’t disparage either extreme, but would rather believe my own actions matter. Maybe that’s the naive perspective Edited March 4, 2021 by Over 29 years of fanhood

Maybe that’s the naive perspective I agree with most of this but I’d like to offer a slight clarification. I think you’ll find the religious right believes God will determine their ETERNAL destiny; not their daily or checkbook destiny. They give thanks to God for every blessing and look to God for wisdom from every setback, but they are not taught to sit on the sofa and pray for a ham sandwich. Just saying.
Unforgiven Posted March 4, 2021 Posted March 4, 2021 Apparently the American way is to hope Joe doesn't cancel your job, feel shame because you're white and racist/xenophobic/transphobic... and finally, be a second hand citizen to illegal immigrants, all while wearing three masks and hiding at home. 1 1

I don't feel as if the American way of life is in peril, and ultimately change is inevitable. There are some very positive things that stem from these changes, and in some cases, the change impacts individuals negatively. Before proceeding here, what would you consider an example of an extremist on the right or left? I think most of us would agree that the people that stormed the Capitol were extremists, but what about the people that attended the rally and did not partake in violence, destruction or the breach? I think most would assume that those protestors who rioted and burned federal facilities and small businesses are extremists, but those peacefully protesting are not? Certainly there are people that feel as you have described, but it's important to know what you view as an extremist as a starting point. Interesting point. I agree with you that those who attended the rally but who did not engage in any violent or criminal acts (including trespassing) are not extremists. Gullible and stupid, perhaps, but not extremists.
Unforgiven Posted March 9, 2021 Posted March 9, 2021 https://www.dailywire.com/news/reports-migrants-are-being-released-in-states-after-testing-positive-for-covid Multiple reports have cited relatively high positive COVID-19 test rates among illegal aliens released into the states. According to Bill Reagan, director of Loaves and Fishes — a food bank and homeless shelter in Harlingen, Texas, where Border Patrol agents are dropping migrants after temporarily retaining them — as much as a quarter of the migrants released at the town tested positive for the virus, The Washington Times reported Sunday. Illegal immigrants...free to go where they want ...no covid tests, nothing. In my state I can't walk freely in a dmv without having an armed security guard rush over to put his his hand on my chest if I take a step in the 'wrong' direction.

Well, to be clear, I’m not suggesting some weren’t extremists, who knows what evil lurks inside a man’s soul? I was just seeking to establish a baseline on the initial post, but sort of forgot about it later on. As for gullible and stupid, whatevs. Plenty of that to go around.

Really? 85 million people just voted for a guy who can’t brush his own teeth.

Nothing defines progressive politics like voting for a doddering old predator who “owns” his misdeeds and who keeps his racism hidden in plain sight. Still, there is no point in arguing an ‘eye of the beholder’ point, hence “whatevs”. Watching Biden age rapidly in real time as his supporters trip to reassure themselves “all is fine” is a study in human psychology. 46 minutes ago, oldmanfan said: Enough with the cheap insults. Why does that bother you? Biden was the king of bare-knuckle politics back before the stutter caused a complete collapse of his mental acuity. Young Biden would have been all over this fool.

Ah, now we need to elevate the level of discourse. That’s the equivalent of agreeing that all crimes should be prosecuted after you stole my TV. Biden will be fine. He’s a career politician, a guy with sharp elbows and he can probably kick everyone’s ass in an IQ/push-up contest. He can probably kick anyone’s ass behind the school gym like they did in the early 1930s. He knows who the real black folks are— they are the ones who love him. Or he did, maybe, as recently as 3 or 4 years ago. He is what he is, but certainty not what he was. It’s fair game.

But what I would ask Trump supporters is this: now he is telling you to send your donations to him rather than the RNC. Does that make sense?

Not much of anything makes sense anymore but you also have to remember that much of what you read and ‘hear’ isn’t always true. This is the result of everybody being in everyone’s business 24/7. In our administration we’ll put an end to it. 😂
