For those saying he should have been more aggressive in the championship round, what are some examples of when he should have pressed it?  The FG at the end of the first half seems to be the obvious opportunity.  What else should he have done?

They’re likely going to say kicking a FG before the half and then on their first possession in the 2nd half after KC kicked a FG on the opening drive. McDermott even agrees he should have been more aggressive there, but we love to beat a dead horse here.

People have also neglected to mention that he was aggressive from the jump. He went for it on 4th down on the opening drive at the KC 48.

I was pleasantly surprised with how McD's game management skills evolved and how aggressive he was this season.  Yes, he could have been more aggressive against KC, but I believe he'll learn from it.  I feel pretty secure in our future with him at the helm.

It was a real eye-opener this season.  I had resolved that he was always going to err more on the side of caution and be more in the vein of the "conservative" coaches of the league.

But he took many more risks over the season, and was definitely aggressive.  I didn't think his decision not to go for the TD at the end of the 1st half vs. KC was inconsistent w/ that - but the one in the 2nd half was a little bit more like how he had coached in previous seasons.

You are damned if you do and damned if you don't. I think the Colts game made him scared to go for the end zone.  IF Frank Reich plays conservative and kicks the the field goals the colts win that game because Leslie Frazier has be found out.

McDermott at least learns from his mistakes which is an advantage many first time head coaches don't have because a franchise will pull the plug too quickly.  His game management skills also have improved this year.  Calling a time out after the replay disaster against the Colts to reset his defense stands out.

I've been doing allot of thinking on this. Bass needs to keep practicing the on side kick so Buffalo can show Andy Reid what aggressive really means. You give the ball to Mahomes, he scores. So don't willingly give the ball to Mahomes. Ever. Sounds crazy right? Desperate? Ok, a little.  It all depends on how fast the strong legged Bass can get with end to end rotation on the football. Try different techniques. Line drives at the oppositions worst hands on the field.  There's agressive then theres McD the mad scientist agressive starring Dr Poyer and go get the football Mr Hyde.. Steal a possession or two vs letting the Mahomie score anyway. I'm just saying.

Ok, who's with me on the Bass kicking the Chiefs ass game plan?  We can do this...

...I swear...
