qwksilver Posted February 4, 2021 Posted February 4, 2021 Vet minimum and 250K per sack, let him work for it. 2
Buffalo_Stampede Posted February 4, 2021 Posted February 4, 2021 I wanted him last year. This year he's even cheaper. He's a freak athlete. Sign him. I just think he's a good fit for what we need and want. 1
Seoulofstone Posted February 4, 2021 Posted February 4, 2021 I'm intrigued to see his market. It won't be 3 mil or 18 mil. I think someone will talk themselves into giving him 10.
BuffaloBills1998 Posted February 4, 2021 Posted February 4, 2021 Hard pass, the guy has done nothing but overrate himself. Was a complete non factor this year statistically. 1
Jeff1954 Posted February 4, 2021 Posted February 4, 2021 Is there a chronic issue with one of his knees? Not sure; but why does he get a pass for pressuring the passer without the stats. but some of our current players don’t? 1

Right now he's a younger version of the current Jerry Hughes. You could do well to get him for about 5M No more jerry Hughes types please. Sacks and QB hits makes for fumbles and bad decisions jerry Hughes doesn’t do that I think it’s time to move on if we can. 1

But he’s an athletic freak who’s been near 10sks multiple times. McDermott discussed players coming here and “becoming the best version of themselves”. All that being said, could he come to Buffalo on a one year, $2m-$3m prove it deal? He’s an elite talent who’s never been able to put it all together and imo is a perfect fit for the Shaq Lawson role in our defense. His sack production isn’t everything but these are his sacks. 0 4.5 6 9.5 9 3 0 Im not advocating for Addison, but just as a comparison he’s avg. 9 for many years. Hard pass on Clowney.

Mankind is all, but wiped after the brutal 2000 year long conflict between Lego Corporation and Wegmans. Two lone figures can be seen trudging wearily up a hill in bitter cold with the winds whipping at them. One of them removes his face mask and in the instant before his face is frozen he whispers, "Do you think clowney might be worth a looksie? It couldn't hurt!" Edited February 4, 2021 by jeremy2020 4

H2o Posted February 4, 2021 Posted February 4, 2021 If he is truly healthy I would offer him an incentive laden deal. Even with incentives that deal would not exceed $4M.
BringBackFergy Posted February 4, 2021 Posted February 4, 2021 He’s an “impact” player alright...on our salary cap. No thanks. 2
Coach Tuesday Posted February 4, 2021 Posted February 4, 2021 Does he love football? I don’t think so. 1
SoCal Deek Posted February 4, 2021 Posted February 4, 2021 (edited) Isn’t that something? I’m going to trust our Front Office. Many fans want to jump on board with any player whose name they think they know. OBD apparently knew better when it came to Clowney. The Bills really need to keep building their roster from within. Draft well and then train up the guys once picked. Quite often the free agency market is just expensive dumpster diving. Edited February 4, 2021 by SoCal Deek
ghostwriter Posted February 4, 2021 Posted February 4, 2021 I’d much rather have JJ Watt than Jadeveon Clowney, I assume their price tags will be similar. Although Watt is older and perhaps not as durable, he is capable of a 20 sack season whereas Clowney would be lucky to get you 10 sacks even if the stats aligned for him. 1
HappyDays Posted February 4, 2021 Posted February 4, 2021 I would be happy with Clowney on a 1 year deal and a DE drafted in the 1st round. Roll into 2021 with Hughes, Clowney, Epenesa, and the rookie as your top 4, with the expectation that Clowney will walk after this year.
TheBeaneBandit Posted February 4, 2021 Posted February 4, 2021 My bottom line is 5M with 250k per sack bonuses built in. 1
947 Posted February 4, 2021 Posted February 4, 2021 SPOTRAC has him estimated at $6.5M/year. I'd be all over that. Part of the problem with our 2020 DEs is that aside from Hughes, none of them are top level athletes. They can play, but struggle to get to the fast QBs. Even if he's not getting 10 sacks, Clowney would bring something most of our guys don't have, and he'll never be cheaper than he is right now.
