the Bills will "be hunted."  Na.  The hunted teams are those that make the SB.  We need a running game/balanced offense, and a defense that can pressure the QB.

Why are people so obsessed with having a more balanced offense? Do you want to take the ball out of Josh’s hands after he had an MVP caliber season and helped us be a top scoring offense?

I don’t want to run it a lot more, just be better when we do. This offense is about throwing the ball.

did you notice that literally every team besides ours in the conference championships have a balanced attack?  you need it.  being balanced does not mean "running 50% of the time," it means being effective when you do.    If you're one dimensional, which we were,  it's much easier to defend.  our inability to score against the WORST red zone D (KC) was very telling.

i'm assuming this is what fans want when they mention working on the run game.  just to know that a possible run play can have some success would be an improvement.

Says no big moves in FA due to salary cap restrictions which is obvious.....but they wouldn’t be as restricted if they didn’t over value and over pay some really average players in last years FA.

need to slice some of the overpaid DL players.

This.

KC is built on Mahomes throwing the ball, but he can throw to WR's, a TE (Kelce), a RB and they can run the ball.

Green Bay is built on Rodgers throwing the ball, but he can throw to WR's, a TE (Tonyan), a RB and they can run the ball.

Tampa Bay is built on Brady throwing the ball, but he can throw to WR's, TE's (Gronk/Brate), a RB and they can run the ball.

Buffalo is built on Allen throwing the ball, and he can throw to WR's.

Yup...just not sure they feel they need to sign a star or two.

guess what they deem a "star" is important.  I'm fine passing on a guy like Dupree.  Getting either Tomlinson or or L. Williams would be really helpful for the entire D.

We were 24th in rush attempts per game. TB was 28th, KC was 23rd and Green Bay was 15th.

KC and GB were 11th and 6th in yards per rush respectively. We were 19th and TB was 26th.

TB is worse than us running the ball. All the teams in the conference championship game live and die by the arm of their QB.

I don't think we need to have a balanced attack like an Indy, Tennessee, etc. We just need the ability to kill you with the run game if you don't respect it. A guy like Fournette (football ability, not the person) would go a long way.

We can make up these kinds of plays with passing concepts too. We seem to never put Josh behind center for a super quick 3 step drop. I don't get it.

it's the ability to do it effectively when needed.  we couldn't.  KC did, Tampa can, Green Bay can.

Exactly. Look at the Bills teams of the early 90's. They were just as successful passing the ball as they were running it. Thurman was the key to the no-huddle. When he was having a good game that made Kelly's life so much easier throwing it to Reed, Lofton etc etc. Allen will be much more dangerous with a strong running game to compliment him. Plus you need to be able to run the ball at certain points in the game. 3rd and 1 to convert a first down. Have a lead late in the 4th you want to run it and control the clock. Sure its a passing league and Allen throwing is definitely a focal point of the offense but running the ball will always be needed.

Yes, but if KC takes away Brady's WR's, theoretically he still has reliable TE's and RB's to throw to.

It was VERY evident that we had no other punches when KC took away our banged up WR group.

Knox may be able to develop into that, but Singletary's inability to do anything before he was benched killed us early.  Brady has been using Fournette in the pass game a ton, and with big success.  We need to get Allen, at least, legitimate weaponry at RB.... and that doesn't mean we run the ball a ton with that back.
