Like A Mofo Posted January 25, 2021 Posted January 25, 2021 Not trying to start anything political here I just wanted to ask our community here to see if there is an explanation or have the Bills done this most of the year: Why didn't the Bills come out for the National Anthem last night? Had some friends texting me about this and wanted to offer any explanation if available.. Thanks
Bangarang Posted January 25, 2021 Posted January 25, 2021 Pretty sure they’ve done this all season. 1
Mrbojanglezs Posted January 25, 2021 Posted January 25, 2021 There is no answer to this question that cannot be political 1 1
Arkady Renko Posted January 25, 2021 Posted January 25, 2021 It is something they have been doing all year. I believe it is a way to avoid the divisiveness and to protect those who do not want to stand. 2 3 2

Rc2catch Posted January 25, 2021 Posted January 25, 2021 The better question is Why does anyone care? We all have rights to do what we choose. Nobody is hurt by this 3 1 1 3

Call_Of_Ktulu Posted January 25, 2021 Posted January 25, 2021 I actually like it, they can do whatever they want in the locker room. There is no reason for them to be out on the field for the anthem anyway. 1 1

The Frankish Reich Posted January 25, 2021 Posted January 25, 2021 People I was watching the game with were getting indignant - hey, why all the shots of the Chiefs on the field and no equal time for the Bills? I explained that I thought it was the kneeling for the anthem thing ... 1

TheFunPolice Posted January 25, 2021 Posted January 25, 2021 (edited) I think it's to avoid the issue of anyone kneeling for the anthem. Guys on both sides of the issue, so why make it an issue at all? Stay in the locker room away from cameras. It's a bit of a bummer but it's not the end of the world to me. Mark Vader Posted January 25, 2021 Posted January 25, 2021 I was curious about this too. I did not know that the Bills had done that all season. During the National Anthem, I was getting pissed off, because I thought CBS was giving us the middle finger by focusing solely on the Chiefs during the entire anthem. 1
Peace Frog Posted January 25, 2021 Posted January 25, 2021 Not an issue. I served in the US Navy and frankly think the anthem is unnecessary before sporting events anyways. It's like it's used as a patriotic litmus test or something. 1 1 3

It's an obvious question that gets asked when you're watching with a group. "How come they are just showing KC?" 1

That doesn't sound too political to me. 1
The Frankish Reich Posted January 25, 2021 Posted January 25, 2021 Just for the record before this thread is closed: I put down my beer, took off my Bills cap, put my hand over my heart and tried to face the nearest flag on my TV screen. And I refused to answer any questions about why the network wasn't showing any Bills players until the junior Jimi Hendrix sounded that last flatted note. 1
