The stats with and without Milano in the lineup for the defense are just stunning...

With Milano:

9th in rushing yards allowed per game

5th in passing yards allowed per game

8th in first downs allowed per game

2nd in points allowed per game

Record 12-0

Without Milano:

28th in rushing yards allowed per game

27th in passing yards allowed per game

31st in first downs allowed per game

29th in points allowed per game

Record 3-3

Anyone not thinking he should be the #1 priority this offseason should think again.

But then you have the common thought that the Bills won’t want to pay him. The guy is a LB. not a LT or a CB or a QB. The contract won’t even be that big. Also you can always play with money to get under the cap. No team ever has an issue going over. There are plenty of tricks. You absolutely need to bring Milano back. Tre White and Milano being here was the turnaround that ended this drought. He’s not going to bankrupt us. Milano needs to be back. Period.

Daryl Williams >>>>>>>> Matt Milano

In no way shape or form should the Bills prioritize Milano over D Williams

Wow, and yet the book on Milano is he's a "speed" linebacker, and not stout against the run.  I think a hidden factor was Edmunds was also nicked up physically in some of the games Milano missed.  I throw out the Arizona game.  Both Milano and Edmunds were not 100% in the back to back losses to TN and KC

That was an amazing evaluation. I actually even subscribed to him I was so impressed. Very knowledgeable and informative.

Ha, I just did the same thing. Holy crap that was a good.

Watch the “The Chiefs are vulnerable...” video too. He breaks down exactly why the Bills are a matchup nightmare for the Chiefs.

They can afford both. Plenty of easy moves to free up about 20 million or so.

We were missing a lot of guys on defense that game..I think white and wallace were both out too we really were forced into the defense that we played

Watching that, it strikes me that games between equally talented rosters are to a high degree already decided in the game planning phase, before the teams ever step on the field. Get the strategy wrong and you have to rely on halftime adjustments to bail you out.

Maybe equal to gameplanning is the QB making correct decisions.  Whats left, maybe 30% is physical execution.

We could debate the exact %s but the point is, the strategy decisions are what set you up for success or not.

We're in pretty good hands with Daboll and Frazier at the chessboard.

Those numbers aren't just for that game...they are for the 6 that Milano missed

But, But, Turk he’s so easily replaceable by any old LB a lot of guys said.  Thanks for the breakdown.  We are miles better with a healthy Tre, the safeties, Edmunds, and yes Milano, not to mention an unsung hero on Hughes.

Josh, they can extend both.  Shrewd GM’s move $ around all the time.  They can restructure contracts, convert to bonus, kick the can down somewhat, and there are just role players you can cut.  Not all are cheap.

Anyway, OP, nice catch with this video so thank you for sharing.

Just now, TPS said:

I would sum up his analysis of Allen as, "There's only one person who can stop Josh Allen....Josh Allen."

To a large extent that is true...it was maddening to see all those wide open receivers in the Chief game that he either didn't see or just flat out missed...that little screen to Singletary could have been a TD...only on Chief player out there and he was being blocked and the pass was off...

White played but Milano and Wallace were out, Edmunds was injured, Klein was making just his 2nd start and not comfortable in the defense yet and Harrison Phillips was still recovering and inactive.  Plus Knox and Feliciano were out and Winters was starting.

He's certainly done it (take the easy but short pass) before, but typically when the Bills have the lead.  Controlling his hero ball instinct may be the last thing he needs to work on to become nearly unstoppable...

I'm not sure how you come away from that analysis thinking his shoulder injury is what makes him take the deep(er) shot and pass up the easy outlet pass?
