Trust The Process Posted January 22, 2021 Posted January 22, 2021 Had we beaten the Chiefs without Mahomes the excuse would’ve been “you only beat the Chiefs because Mahomes didn’t play” which is true. I want to earn our respect, and the best way to do that is to go to their house and beat their ass which will silence the haters and non Billievers. 1
stevewin Posted January 22, 2021 Posted January 22, 2021 Is he out of pinched nerve protocol though...

4thandGoal Posted January 22, 2021 Posted January 22, 2021 He passed all 5 stages of the concussion protocol. josh Allen did it last after Week 4. They are not hiding information- their is no conspiracy! No doctor would want there reputation ruined by clearing someone that is still having any effects 1
Trust The Process Posted January 22, 2021 Posted January 22, 2021 Bills D needs to hit Mahomes early in the game just to see how healthy he really is, if he comes up limping even if it’s ever so slightly his mobility will pretty much be a non factor and its tee off time.
Cygnus99 Posted January 22, 2021 Posted January 22, 2021 Not surprised at all that he will play and I am glad that he will play and I know the Bills defense knew that Patrick Mahomes will be playing and be prepared
Reader Posted January 22, 2021 Posted January 22, 2021 He might have cleared it, but we'll see if he is at 100%. The lingering effects and toe might still suggest we hold an advantage.
BillnutinHouston Posted January 22, 2021 Posted January 22, 2021 I have a serious question about clearing the protocol, if anyone knows the answer. I assume the neurologist is supposed to confirm the absence of symptoms before clearing a player. Are all of these checks "fakeable" by the player? In other words, can the player say "no" to all of the "are you having _____ symptom?" questions, and be cleared, or are there objective medical tests that confirm what the player is reporting?

He never hit his head on anything so I have no idea what people think he got concussion from. Seemed pretty obvious from he way his neck was bent that the more likely explanation is that he kind of seemed like he had a sleeper hold put on him in wrestling where it cuts off the blood supply to the brain temporarily.
Greg S Posted January 22, 2021 Posted January 22, 2021 If he does have a pinched nerve in the neck/shoulder area I wonder how much that will bother him. I remember Peyton saying that after neck surgery he could never throw a football the way he used to. Granted surgery is a bigger issue than a pinched serve but it can still cause problems for Mahomes especially with a foot/toe injury as well.
Billznut Posted January 22, 2021 Posted January 22, 2021 Phew, glad that’s cleared up now. I was really confused as to whether he’d play or not. 🤦♂️

Southern_Bills Posted January 22, 2021 Posted January 22, 2021 Happy to hear it. No excuses, just play the game. Something tells me Buffalo is ready to go

Sure looked to me like the tackler pulled the top of his head very quickly into the turf. Whether it actually hit or not, Mahomes' head whipped forward like a car accident. That in itself is plenty of force to cause a concussion.
