BADOLBILZ Posted April 24, 2005 Posted April 24, 2005 Just a thought... the 'phins didn't draft a QB, as far as I can tell. I bet Saban trades for Ramsey... 316883[/snapback] No way. Jon Jansen said Gibbs told him the 'skins were Patrick's team and he believed it, so it must be true.
DeeRay Posted April 24, 2005 Posted April 24, 2005 Why would you think that Ramsey would be moved period? Gibbs told him he was the man. Is Gibbs a liar? Sure they drafted a QB, but it ain't like Gibbs to throw a rookie in there. Ramsey is their QB, for now. Gibbs is giving him every opportunity to prove himself. He's already told Brunell that he's the backup. Snyder is not a patient man, as you know, and if they were to throw Campbell in as starter from the get go, they are exxentilly writing the season off. So, Campbell is coming in as a #3 and will get his shot in a year or two. A lot will depend on what Ramsey does with his opportunity. If anyone could be the odd man out, it could be Brunell. For what they're paying him for the horrid season he had has got to having him looking over his shoulder. The skins re-signed Hasselbeck and he lmay supplant Brunell as the backup.
silvermike Posted April 24, 2005 Posted April 24, 2005 I'm pretty sure the cap number on Brunell prevents them from really axing him. He signed last year, it'd be a big hit to just swallow. Campbell was a mysterious pick.
Formerly Allan in MD Posted April 24, 2005 Posted April 24, 2005 Not gonna happen. The Skins do some screwy things, but that would break the bank. Are they going to go with Brunell and a raw rookie, who is not expected to be even remotely ready for a year or two. No way. Actually, Hasselback looked really good in pre-seaon last year. But the assumption in DC is that he will be cut. Based on the Deadskins recent track record, he'll probably get picked up and turn into a solid quarterback.
Coach Tuesday Posted April 24, 2005 Author Posted April 24, 2005 So the consensus is that the 'Skins are gonna shell out $15 mil or so in cap money for the QB position this season?!
