I pinched my ulnar nerve sleeping once. I lost almost complete use of my entire right hand, and totally lost all feeling and motor skills in my middle, ring, and pinky finger. It took months to get it all back. Which was especially frustrating as a righty.

Yup, me too.. same

So far, he got Choked out, hit in the back of the head, had the wind knocked out and now a pinched nerve. But yet he was evaluated for a concussion and ruled out of the game for a Concussion. Smh.

A lesser QB would have tapped out.

Be prepared for announcers gushing about Mahomes toughness all game.

So what you are saying... Patrick Mahomes is about to have the best game of his career? Just too crazy... This is like that Favre dad died game, or Jeter 3k day coming, why...

Per the article, Crosby hadn't played for nearly 2 months as of the date of the article.  Let's see how long Mahomes is held out.

They misdiagnosed Crosby was part of the issue.  But indeed if it were my 450M invested in him he wouldn't play.

That's probably part of the issue.  Interestingly though, even after the correct diagnosis (late January/early February), Crosby still didn't play until March 15.

If the story is true or not is not that relevant.

Mahomes playing makes this a tougher game, but the constant comparing of Allen to Mahomes, that narrative that he is the bar that Allen and this team cannot step over, makes this the contest that many folks want to see.

I get it, a part of me wants the greased rails into a SB, but it looks like we will have to earn that ticket.

But if we cannot get past a Mahomes-led KC team then maybe we are just not quite there yet as a team. If we can, we go into that ultimate contest with the confidence that we can play with the best of them. I don't want this team to skitter away from a challenge like an iddy-biddy bug just because Mahomes is behind center. The same way I did not want them to give in to all the negative press about them facing the Ravens run game.

Go out and execute and take it from them, or go home - that is the playoffs.

I’ve had surgery on both ulnar nerves (decompression). Arms / hands were going numb while I slept and eventually started to during the day doing nothing. Would occasionally just drop stuff or have trouble gripping.

Finally got bad enough to see a specialist and got an EMG and had some nerve damage in both hands from the nerve being “pinched” at the elbow for a period of time. Surgery didn’t reverse what had been done, but prevented things from getting worse. Glad I had them fixed but it’s been almost 2 years on my left one and a bit over a year on the right and it’s still very sensitive at the incision site (luckily very small).

If Mahomes was carted off the field unconscious and was exhibiting concussion symptoms tomorrow he’d still be listed as questionable for Sunday.....and likely cleared to play an hour before the game if he simply knew his name.

Looked more like a choke out than a head impact.

Not surprised its not a concussion.

Did I miss where he exited concussion protocol?

He was ruled out for concussion protocol.  He will now have to pass all five stages of the protocol before he can play again.  He can not practice till stage 5. He can not talk to media during the protocol

So in his presser today, McDermott got asked whether they would prepare differently for Henne and Mahomes and whether having Mahomes status uncertain changed things like, 3 or 4 times in 3 or 4 different ways.

McDermott made the point that KC has a lot of talent on the field and that neither the talent nor the system that uses that talent changes when Mahomes is out.

I can kind of see his point.  You don't have to prepare for the "That Freakin' Guy!" DC-throwing-notepad plays, but those are maybe 2-3 plays per game that you have to be able to surmount, the reason they're "That Freakin' Guy!" plays is that they're next to impossible to defend.

Hill, Kelce, Edwards-Helaire, and the rest of the talent are still there and the same scheming that helps them get open and exploit defenses are still there.

The people who have to clear him are independent neurologists not associated with the team.

Yes I get that but it's not different than me going to the doctor and he asks me does anything bother you and I tell him no, meanwhile I'm in extreme pain.

A doc could take an X-ray and tell someone, no your leg's not healed enough to play this week, but don't think there's any test you can be given to determine if the person really has a headache or not if the person says they don't.

Does it make sense for Mahomes to lie about it absolutely not, but many an athlete would lie if it meant they play or not play in a playoff game.  I'm sure he could be fined or maybe even suspended by the league for lying about his medical condition, but not something easily proven either.
