I bet there's a reason why that fumble rule is in place.

Bad fundamentals for the Browns there though. Against the spangola d those screens are there, but 2 drops and a fumble. You just don't extend the ball like that.

The yards are free but the possession is not.

This rule has been discussed a lot over the years.  It should be modified IMO.

Here is a good article about it.

I dunno... The more I think about the rule the more I'm coming around to the idea that it's not that bad a rule... Why is it a safety if it goes out of your own endzone?.. Feels like we should be incentivizing ball security.

Ball security logic would be that any O player fumbling out of bounce (even in the field of play between the end zones) then

should go to the D, right?

The safety rule is so players don't "purposely" fumble out of bounce.

I agree with that rule.

The myth of the running game travels in the playoffs should stop after this season. All running teams lost in the playoffs......Titans, Ravens, Colts and now the Browns.

You have to at least have somewhat of a threat though.  Our one successful TD drive last night had the most offensive balance between run and pass all night.

If you had to build your NFL franchise around Baker Mayfield, Jared Goff or Sam Darnold, which river would you drown yourself in?

The largest river I could find.

Browns players trying to do too much, poor execution and Mayfield just isn’t that good. He’s okay, but he plays like he thinks he’s on a Mahomes/ Allen level. He’s not close at this point.
