YoloinOhio Posted January 23, 2021 Posted January 23, 2021 Frazier is all class man... I hope he gets another shot at HC 3 1
jkeerie Posted January 23, 2021 Posted January 23, 2021 I know they just interviewed Jim Caldwell. I don't understand how he doesn't get another chance. He's got an overall winning record in Indy and Detroit. 3

But, that Texans job sounds like a nightmare.

I'd be happy for Frazier, albeit I don't see Houston as a particularly stable organization. My other concern is that he'll raid the Bills staff for his assistants. 1
delirious Posted January 23, 2021 Posted January 23, 2021 I don't really want Frazier to leave in the same sense I don't want Daboll to leave. But I'd be happy if they got HC positions. After Leslie leaves, and maybe Daboll, I really hope McDermott goes for more youth and give some guys their first shot (Dorsey, Chad Hall). I want the Bills to grow their own talent. I want McDermott to have his own "coaching tree" 3

Cheektowaga Chad Posted January 23, 2021 Posted January 23, 2021 Jim Caldwell at OC and frazier at HC could be a very good structure 1 2
JaCrispy Posted January 23, 2021 Posted January 23, 2021 I’m happy for these people in our organization getting looks, but I hate seeing the band break up... 1 1
RoyBatty is alive Posted January 23, 2021 Posted January 23, 2021 I never understood that concept. So if Frazier goes to the Texans, do they get draft picks as well because they hired a minority HC? So if you get a minority HC you get nada but 2 picks if you have them as coordinators and someone poaches them, seems unbalanced to me. 1

WIDE LEFT Posted January 23, 2021 Posted January 23, 2021 It rewards an organization for developing front office and/or coaches. The development is more important than the final hire 1
Southern_Bills Posted January 23, 2021 Posted January 23, 2021 The intent of the rule is to encourage teams to develop minority coaches to become head coaches. It's difficult to say the best coach isn't getting the job, but not a stretch to say they are not getting the opportunity to be developed to be in position to be the best available coach. These are not my feelings, its the way I interpreted the rule when it was put in place. 1
Southern_Bills Posted January 23, 2021 Posted January 23, 2021 I hope Frazier waits for a better opportunity, every player that plays for the Texans walks away with a bad taste. One or two I get it, can't please everyone, all? The ownership has to be atrocious. 1
IgotBILLStopay Posted January 23, 2021 Posted January 23, 2021 (edited) That thread was was flagged for a misleading title (it only said count us in for 2 comp picks) - hopefully it is clearer with the detailed title Edited January 23, 2021 by IgotBILLStopay
WotAGuy Posted January 23, 2021 Posted January 23, 2021 Seems weird to award those picks for someone that was already a head coach. You’d think if the focus was on development, picks would be awarded for first time head coach hires.

Their current ownership and GM are floating hiring Josh effing McCown as their HC. Let somebody else be the guinea pig to right the ship. Just like Buffalo had years of terrible management it wasn’t necessarily just McD who got us hear. Whether fans want to admit it or not Buddy, Gailey, Whaley, and Marrone were all part of the journey of at least getting back to respectability. 1
