Don Otreply Posted January 15, 2021 Posted January 15, 2021 The “punched in the mouth” thing is so Josh Allen. Go Bills!!! 1
Albany,n.y. Posted January 15, 2021 Posted January 15, 2021 Fitzpatrick was a 7th round pick by the St. Louis Rams. 1

Haslett_Stomp Posted January 15, 2021 Posted January 15, 2021 Nice read, thanks for posting. Something tells me we're in for a big game from Mr. Allen on Saturday. Go Bills!

Doc Posted January 15, 2021 Posted January 15, 2021 "Bill Belichick also acknowledged that he didn't see greatness in Brady when New England selected the Michigan quarterback with the 199th overall pick in the 2000 NFL Draft." Like I've been saying... 1

The article didn't mention that, actually, but it did refer to "Romo and Fitzpatrick, two formerly undrafted players", hence @Albany,n.y.'s comment. 1 1
Saxum Posted January 15, 2021 Posted January 15, 2021 Quote At 24 years old, Allen is prime evidence that the most important quality in evaluating whether a quarterback can lead a franchise is one that doesn't get enough attention: mental toughness. Mental toughness like the talking heads repeating something so often it becomes meaningless - silly quips taken out of context. He should have read this site in preparation. 1
BuffaloBill Posted January 15, 2021 Posted January 15, 2021 “At this level you are going to get punched in the mouth. You have to know how to handle that.” Says it all.
nkreed Posted January 15, 2021 Posted January 15, 2021 I think humility is one of the most important aspects of a great leader. Allen's quoted saying, "I don't think I'm better than anybody but I also feel like I can compete with anybody." The article also starts with the Romo, Fitz, Allen impromptu dinner, where Allen soaks it all in. They all scream what we have been hearing all along, he is willing to learn from others and be open to learning. That's hard to do when you possess some of the most prolific God given talents ever. Allen has the off field smarts and the on field gifts that you don't see all that often. Take them to the next level this year! Go Bills! 1

You can possess as much talent that there is, but if no one believes in you and you have to keep proving yourself, it tends to makes you humble. I have no doubt that the JUCO track that he had to start off with was a punch in the face for him. 1
