EasternOHBillsFan
Old school bad sequel... Chinatown was just an amazing film all around... the acting, the plot, the music... watched it the other night and it's still a classic. The Two Jakes? Can't stomach it... it's as if they stuck Jack Nicholson in a movie and expected him to carry it as Gittes. Simply awful.

Top of my head, I gotta say Caddyshack 2 was really awful, and just about a downright disservice to the original. The Clooney & Kilmer Batman flicks were pretty bad too, imo. Not sure if those are sequels or not. The newest Star Wars trilogy is a trainwreck. Godfather 3 is not a good movie. Everything after Rocky 4 is no good. What say youse?? Christmas story 2 was the first thing that came to mind. Just simply the worst.
CookieG
A Quiet Place II can go on the "good sequels" side of sequels. I saw it last night. Even though they did much of what was done in the original, it came out pretty good. The deaf daughter is the hit of this one. And of course, there are enough WNY landmark scenes considering it was filmed in WNY. Akron, aka Anytown, USA is featured in the 15 minute prequel/origins story. The Grand Island Bridge, the ruins of Bethlehem Steel and Olcott all get screen time. Considering the waterfall scene in the original, and further considering they chose to film in WNY, I know they were tempted to make a community of survivors living in the Cave of the Winds...but alas..they didn't.

Ridgewaycynic2013
At this juncture, I would like to volunteer my entirely unqualified opinion that the original BBMB does not 'hold a candle' to its far superior sequel TBD-TSW.
ExiledInIllinois
Joe Verses the The Volcano 2. Never heard of it, you ask? The first one was so awful, they never finished shooting the second one! Heck, I am not even sure how the first one ended, I left the theater early too...

I would add Terminator 2: Judgement Day and The Dark Knight to that list. Easily. I'd put them above Star Trek II at least.

I saw this Friday night and it was definitely up to par with the first one. I thought it was very well done. I’m glad they started with a quick flashback to day 1 of events

It was the best of the original Star Trek movies but there were some significant plot holes and unnecessary story lines for me to rank it above those two. Plus, we all pretty much knew Spock was coming back for the sequels so the emotions of Spock's death felt contrived in retrospect with his space burial being on the planet "Genesis." Another Fan
Weekend at Bernies 2 and Mannequin 2. Both were like really really bad ideas Honorable mention to Creed 2. That felt like a pure cash grab imo Edited May 30, 2021 by Another Fan

True about opinion. But there are lots of plot holes in every movie. And I saw it when I was 12 and didn't think Spock was coming back so it seemed more final. f0neguy
Dumb and Dumberer is without a doubt the worst sequel ever. Absolutely unwatchable, couldn’t finish it.
